Luck Dust is a special crafting material in Moonlight Peaks that becomes available once you unlock Rabbicula, one of the game’s late-game farm animals. While collecting it is fairly straightforward, the game doesn’t clearly explain what it’s actually used for.

How to Unlock Luck Dust

Luck Dust can only be obtained by raising Rabbicula.

This unique farm animal becomes available starting in Spring, Year 2.

On the first day of Spring in your second year, you’ll receive a letter from Luna titled “Rabbicula!” In the letter, she explains that she’s discovered a Rabbicula and now offers it for sale at her farm.

After receiving the letter, Rabbicula becomes part of Luna’s available livestock.

Keep in mind that Rabbicula has a habit of eating crops if left unattended, so it’s worth preparing your farm before bringing one home.

How to Get Luck Dust

Once your Rabbicula is living on your farm, keep it well-fed and happy.

A content Rabbicula will periodically create Luck Dust dig spots around areas of the farm it can access.

When one appears, you can collect the Luck Dust by:

  • Digging the spot with a Shovel
  • Interacting with it while in Hellkitten form

The happier your Rabbicula is, the more dig spots will appear over time.

Unlike other animal products, however, Luck Dust has no quality levels. Raising Rabbicula’s happiness increases the quantity you receive rather than improving the item’s value.

What Is Luck Dust Used For?

Luck Dust has several useful purposes throughout the game.

Craft Love Potions

Its primary crafting use is as an ingredient in the Love Potion.

The Love Potion increases the friendship gained when giving gifts, making it much easier to build relationships with villagers.

Give It as a Gift

Luck Dust is also a convenient fallback gift.

Almost every villager considers it a Liked gift, making it a safe choice whenever you don’t have one of their favorites available.

The only major exception is Death, who does not appreciate receiving Luck Dust.

Although it won’t provide the larger friendship bonus of a Loved gift, it’s a reliable option for raising relationships across most of the town.

Sell for Extra Income

If you don’t need Luck Dust for crafting or gifting, you can simply sell it.

Is Luck Dust Worth Farming?

Absolutely.
