In Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, crops are plentiful. Each season gives you multiple different crop types to choose from, each with their own benefits and drawbacks depending on how you plan out your farm and daily routines.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town Crop Basics
There are a couple of things to keep in mind when you’re getting started with your crops, aside from the basics like using the hoe to till the fields. It might be obvious for veterans, but note that each seed back spreads in a 3×3 square. Stick to that for each crop to maximize your gain, since getting creative with field tilling won’t do you any favors.
In the Story of Seasons remake, you can actually walk over your crops, so you’re free to make as many 3×3 squares as you want, and even put them together with no space in between.
Holding “ZR” as you till each square is a good idea as well. That way you have better control over the reticule’s position and won’t accidentally till over a square with seeds in it, which would destroy the seedlings.
Don’t neglect the Harvest Sprites either. Give them gifts like Flour to raise their friendship levels, and you can get them to help out with watering and harvesting crops. That saves on stamina and means you can plant — and earn — more.
Finally, though the game tutorial doesn’t tell you, make sure you plan your crop times in advance; all crops are season specific. Any remaining spring crops wither on Summer 1 and so on. But if you’ve got cash to spare, you can go to Huang’s store (in Zack’s house) and purchase a select variety of crops for the upcoming season.

With that out of the way, here’s every seasonal crop you can grow and what you’ll need to know about each of them.
The prices laid out below is based on bags of seed, and you’ll have a better chance of growing higher quality crops when you upgrade your field level each year. In your first year, you’ll mostly get one-star crops and occasionally two-star crops.
Also, these prices are for Normal Mode. If you’re playing in Simple Mode, you’ll get a slightly higher price for each crop level, usually ranging from 10G-20G or higher per crop. All crops marked with an asterisk come from Huang’s store.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town Spring Crops
You might not get rich quick with your first round of spring crops, but there’s enough to build a strong foundation for your farming future. Again, the cost laid out below is based on bags of seed (nine seeds per bag), and the shipping prices under each star rating are for individual crops, e.g. one bag of turnips costs 120G and shipping all nine one-star turnips would net you 540G.

Fall offers a wider variety of crops to choose from, thanks to the Story of Seasons remake adding some new choices to the mix.

The fall flowers need a bit of explaining as well. The Blue Magic Red Flower is the standard flower, the one you’ll more than likely get from the seeds Huang sells. However, there’s a 5% chance a Red Magic Red Flower will sprout instead.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town Sunsweet Flower Event
The Sunsweet Flower is part of an important event chain that also ties in with marriage. On the first sunny day in fall (except a Sunday or a Tuesday), or when you’ve reached a marriageable character’s blue heart stage (whichever comes first), leave your house between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Jeff greets you and takes you to the store to speak with Basil.
Events unfold, the Nature Sprites get involved, and then you end up with two special flowers to give back to Basil and Jeff. Basil takes one of them away. Three days later, during the same time frame, Jeff greets you again and gives you a Preserved Flower gift item. After that, you can buy another Preserved Flower for 1,000 G at the store.
To move the relationship on even further, you have to give a Preserved Flower to a marriage candidate after you’ve seen their first four heart events. You can do this for any and all marriage candidates you’re interested in as well. However, it’s not required for the Harvest Goddess or other special marriage partners.
The next time you leave your house during the same time frame in fall, Basil is waiting, and he gives you the new flower: the Sunsweet Flower. That’s when you can start buying Sunsweet seeds from the store, but after the Sprite event in this chain, you can also start finding Sunsweet Flowers in the Secret Forest (the wooded area in the middle of Mineral Town).
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town Winter Crops
If you’ve played a Story of Seasons game before, it won’t surprise you to learn you can’t grow crops in winter. Instead, you’ll rely on foraging, mining, and animal products to keep your cash flow alive.
