Chickens
Screenshot by GameSkinnyChickens are among the first animals you can house at your farmstead in Fields of Mistria. There are three standard colorations to choose from at 1,000 Tesserae each: brown, spotted, and white. You’ll find chickens for sale at Hayden’s shop from the start of your playthrough.
Like several other farm animals available in the game, male and female chickens provide different materials and food items for crafting and cooking. If you’re looking to collect eggs for baking purposes, you’ll want to purchase a female chicken. For rooster feathers, opt for a male chicken (or rooster).

Again, there’s no price difference from one color pattern to the next, so you can expect to spend 2,000 Tesserae on a cow of any color at Hayden’s shop.
Cows provide different materials depending on their gender. When it comes to raising your first cow, you’ll want to choose a female, as it will drop milk regularly and provide you with the resources you need to make food items like cheese. Male cows (or bulls) instead produce bull horns.
