The pigeon dating sim, Hatoful Boyfriend, will release on PS4 and PS Vita platforms sometime during the second quarter of next year. The original Japanese version came out in July 2011 as a flash visual novel. This September, it was released in English on Steam  by Devolver Digital, the same company responsible for Hotline Miami, Broforce, and Serious Sam.

The full title of the game is: Hatoful Boyfriend: A School of Hope and White Wings. The player acts as the only human girl attending the prestigious St. PigeoNation’s Institute. While attending the school, the high school sophomore protagonist can date and interact with pigeons and other birds. The game isn’t entirely focused on love, though. Choose the wrong pigeon to woo and you might find yourself dead.

Hatoful Boyfriend has an “overwhelmingly positive” rating on Steam based on 810 user reviews.

The sequel, which is set during the wintertime, is called Hatoful Boyfriend HolidayStar, and it’s available online for $3.66. Whether or not the game will be on Steam or PlayStation in the future is unknown.
