It beat last week's number one, Final Fantasy 13-2 down to second place.

Tentacle-wielding shooter The Darkness 2 debuted in third.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection fell to fourth, while FIFA 12 was fifth.

Quirky block-climbing love adventure Catherine landed in 20th place.

It beat last week's other new launch, EA's Grand Slam Tennis 2, which got served a 26th place finish.

Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Skyrim and Mario & Sonic: London 2012 Olympics made up the rest of the top ten.
