The centre-piece show of Summer Game Fest - the literal Summer Game Fest showcase - takes place tonight at 10pm UK time (11pm CEST / 5pm EDT / 2pm PDT), and we'll be covering all the news and announcements from it, live, right here in this article. There may be a pre-show; it's unconfirmed.

The page will auto-refresh as our coverage rolls in, and you're of course able to comment as events unfold. I say "of course": please bear with us if you experience any log-in problems - we encountered some during the PlayStation State of Play show earlier this week.

What to expect from tonight? Summer Game Fest is a long show, and we've been braced for a two-hour running time, alongside a promise of seeing "what's next for video games", which I hope is something positive and not an oncoming disaster. The show tends to start with bang and then slump in the middle and pick up at the end.

Really all we've been told is that we're getting a look at the X-COM-like Star Wars: Zero Company, but there have been teasers for a new Crazy Taxi game and Guild Wars studio ArenaNet is prepping an announcement for the show. If that's Guild Wars 3, it could be tremendously exciting. Persona 6 keeps popping up and then disappearing again like on a whack-a-mole machine at an arcade as well.

Beyond that, it's speculation, and I wonder if it's time for EA BioWare to show Mass Effect 5. It's been a year-and-a-half since Dragon Age: The Veilguard, so the timing feels right. And how about the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, or a third part of the Star Wars: Jedi series, or Ken Levine's Judas, or a new Devil May Cry? The Duskbloods? A new Far Cry? There's plenty that could be there; let's hope some of it is.

Our coverage will build up to the show gently over the course of the afternoon and evening. The YouTube stream is listed as beginning at 9.15pm BST so we'll be keeping a closer eye from then.
