This week went by just like that, didn’t it? Oh. I clicked my fingers as you read the word “that”, so you’d understand how fast this week went by, but you probably didn’t hear it. Alright then, let’s try something else: I’m writing this on Friday, and now it’s the weekend. See? See how fast that was? Better read what we’re playing today quick, or it’ll be December 8th, 2032 before you know it.

I might clock up some time in Hell Is Us this weekend - people left thoughtful comments on my article about it this week this week, and I feel like I need to follow through on my opening observations about its portrayal of civil wars. But mostly, I'll be doing stuff with my partner - cooking and cleaning and enjoying the sun.

Nic
Someday, Nic goes through the rain. And someday, Nic feeds on a tree frog.

This weekend it's... surprise... Silksong! Which is a perfectly lovely Metroidvania, but I have never been a fan of the whole "you need to buy an item just to see yourself on the map" schtick. Also, boy oh boy do more Metroidvanias need to adopt what Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown did, which is let you take screenshots of yourself and place them on the map in order to indicate dead ends, hidden objects you can't reach yet, etc. Now that's an in-game item I'd pay rosaries for.

Ollie
It rhymes with Milk Bong.

James
I am also playing Silksong but am too exhausted from playing Silksong to be funny about it.

Mark
At least one of us must resist the Skong and play a different game that happens to have come out this week. I, therefore, am engaging in what’s become a yearly tradition for me and checking out 2K’s latest NBA basket-to-ball thing. Or would it be ball-to-basket? Who knows, but I’ll have plenty to decide this weekend as I attempt to scrape away the coating of shameless virtual currency shilling and discern whether 2K26 does enough good/new stuff to make it an improvement on the last LeBron Games to shuffle off the production line.

And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend?...
