Stuck wondering how to persuade mayor Elias Cartwright in the Starfield Rough Landings side quest? You’re tasked with helping Marko land a job with Milena Axelrod who runs freight routes in the United Colonies systems. The only snag is that Milena isn’t in good standing with the folks in Akila City and you’ve got to find a solution.

Now, you can clean up any lingering hard feelings with good old cash, you can also chat with the mayor to smooth things out. How to persuade the mayor in Starfield

To persuade mayor Elias in Starfield, choose the following dialogue options:

  • [Persuade] Everyone deserves a second chance.
  • I know you’d like to help me if you could.
  • Now we’re getting somewhere.
  • Look, everything’s fine. Nothing to worry about…
  • I know you’d like to help me if you could.

If your Persuasion skill is sufficiently high, you can also go in straight away with ‘Don’t you have anything better to do than ride my ass?’ to convince the mayor. Note that persuasion also involves some RNG, so if you don’t convince Elias first time around, reload and try again.
