As fun as it is traipsing through the Zone overburdened, chucking bolts at even a whiff of an anomaly, and gunning down those pesky dogs, sometimes you just want to get where you’re going quickly. Developer GSC has fashioned together a fast travel system, but it’s more akin to the wagon system in Red Dead Redemption 2 than the traditional system we’re accustomed to. More importantly, it doesn’t unlock until you’ve sunk quite a few hours into Stalker 2 and has some major limitations. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to fast travel in Stalker 2.

How to unlock fast travel in Stalker 2

To unlock fast travel, you’ll need to progress the main story until you reach the Garbage region and The Price Goes up main mission. You’ll be tasked with reaching the Slag Heap settlement, which is roughly in the center of the region. Once you’re there, talk to a Stalker called Bonkers who you’ll find indoors in the northeast of the settlement. He’s leaning against the wall outside of Huron the trader’s room. He’ll be marked on your map as a Guide by a white compass symbol.

How do you fast travel

To fast travel in Stalker 2, talk to any Guide in any of the major camps and select the ‘I’m looking for a guide’ dialogue option. You’ll then see a list of destinations you can travel to along with a price in coupons. For example, travelling from the Slag Heap to Zalissya costs 1,500 coupons. You’ll unlock more destinations as you explore the map and push through the main story. Confirm and after a short loading screen, you’ll spawn at your destination.
