Gene Seed is a type of collectable found in Space Marine 2’s Operations missions, which awards 30% bonus XP to all players. This XP bonus can then be used to level up weapons tiers, unlock variants, and pick up perks to fine tune your class.

Gene Seeds aren’t guaranteed to spawn in the same locations during every playthrough of a particular mission. Instead, there’s a random chance they’ll spawn in several fixed spots so you’ll need to check them all. Note that to properly claim a Gene Seed and earn the XP bonus, the player carrying the seed needs to complete the mission successfully without dying. If the player dies, the Gene Seed is lost.

To mitigate this, we recommend that the seed carrier plays as a Heavy due to the class’ increased armor and health regeneration. Otherwise, a tank Bulwark is a solid alternative, again thanks to enhanced armor, blocking capabilities, and Contested Health bonuses.

You’ll eventually come to a bridge overpass with a burning tank a short distance away. The Gene Seed is on a green box leaning against a wall near the rubble next to the tank.2Proceed to the Promethium RefineryEnter the Promethium processing plant outdoor area after the swamp. Dead ahead is a ramp that leads towards the building. Another ramp on the left takes you towards a large tree. Take the left-hand path to find the Gene-Seed behind the tree near a cluster of green crates.3Advance to the Observation PlatformYou’ll find this one inside the large collapsed water room with the red lights after the generator defense segment. Drop in and check the far back corner of the room for the Gene Seed behind a stack of crates.4Start Bomb Deployment ProtocolBefore starting the bomb deployment protocol at the console, head left to find a Gene Seed near a stack of crates.5Advance to the Observation PlatformAs you make your way to Observation Platform, take a left at the top of the stairs to find a Gene Seed. ✓ Tip

When picked up, a Gene Seed occupies the same inventory spot as Guardian Relics, so you can’t have both items at the same time.

Proceed onward to the storage bay area until you come to several Tyranid Warriors guarding a catwalk. Press on and you’ll enter a large open area with red crates. The Gene Seed can spawn next to fencing on the cracked wall near the edge of the building.2Advance to the BridgeAfter planting the charges, there’s a Gene Seed in the corner of the the elevator room. You can access it by going up or going down the elevator after blowing up the bridge.3Find the Hive TyrantAscend the Elevator after planting the charges in the tower. When arrive on the bridge, check next to the statues for a Gene Seed.4Advance to the BridgeWhen you reach the bridge detonation area, there’s an open area next to the building with storage crates and Guardsmen defending. The Gene Seed can spawn behind one of the storage crates in the corner.5Find the Hive TyrantWhen you reach the tunnel, turn around instead of taking the elevator. You’ll find the seed on your left.

Head inside for the Gene Seed.3Proceed to the Mechanicus CompoundFix up the crane then jump down to the level below. When you land, look behind you for the seed near some large slabs.4Follow the DreadnoughtDuring the graveyard section, track the Dreadnought until you reach some steps. The seed is inside a crate on your right.

Head round the corner, wait for the dust to settle, then head up the steps towards the objective marker. Enter the room on the left and check the left side for a Gene Seed.2Awaken the Machine SpiritWhen you reach Sector A, look to the left of the terminal for a Gene Seed.3Advance to the TrainDrop into the train line cargo area full of debris. Go left up the train line and stick to the left wall. When you get close to the tank, you should see an opening that leads to a hidden spot with a Gene Seed hidden behind a crate.4Advance to the TrainBefore fixing the bridge, look on your right next to the candles for the Gene Seed.5Advance to the TrainAfter fighting through the train line cargo area, you’ll come across a ledge. Drop down into the small square-shaped corridor and you’ll find a Gene Seed in the corner.
