Much like the original, sequel Revenge of the Savage Planet has all the ingredients for a memorable multiplayer – or at the very least co-op – experience. Bounding, sliding, and blasting across abstract and bulbous alien worlds full of equally odd and colorful creatures sounds like a good time. Especially if you’re sided by a friend and a guaranteed assortment of jabs, jokes, and gooey shenanigans. This all leads us to the point of this little guide – does Racoon Logic’s sequel feature multiplayer or co-op?

The short answer is yes, you can team up with your best pal, mother-in-law, co-worker, postman, or whomever you want to play this unapologetically playful and wacky sci-fi action adventure. In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the details about multiplayer and co-op in Revenge of the Savage Planet.

Can you play Revenge of the Savage Planet in co-op or multiplayer?

Yes, Revenge of the Savage Planet features both remote and local co-op with cross-platform support thrown in for good measure. What this means is you can nestle into a sofa alongside your favourite gaming companion and experience the game split-screen from start to finish together. Alternatively, you can do the very same and goof around verdant swamps and atop snowy peaks with a pal located on the other side of our great blue orb through the marvels of modern information technology, i.e. really fast internet.

As for traditional multiplayer, Revenge of the Savage Planet isn’t designed for that so it isn’t on the cards. Don’t expect a shoot-ey death match mode, however fun that might sound, or anything to the tune of the multiplayer experience found in those time-sapping live-service games.

If you’re tempted to give it a go, know that it’s on Game Pass, where you can sample its carefree fun reminiscent of action-platformers of old for the price of a monthly subscription. But, if you fancy owning it outright, there are pre-order bonuses up for grabs. Better yet, buy it on Steam and you’ll net a free copy of the original Journey to the Savage Planet, which made quite a stir when it launched back in the hazy days of early 2020.
