Numel is a returning Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Despite being a part of the franchise since Generation III, only some have developed a liking for the Numb Pokémon. If you fancy having him and his evolutionary successor, Camerupt in your party or are simply a completionist, we’ll show you how to get Numel and evolve it into Camerupt in Pokémon Scarlet.

Where to find Numel in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Given its nature, Numel can only be found in mountain biomes. Specifically, it is located within West Province Area One. Head to this area using your Koraidon or Miraidon, depending on the version that you have, and find yourself a Numel.

Numel is an easy catch, provided it’s done under the proper condition. If you’re going to look at the Pokédex, Numel despises the rain, which is pretty logical given that it is a fire and ground-type Pokémon.

Having that said, take a good rest and wait until the rain stops before attempting to catch Numel again. Unfortunately for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, there is no option to change the weather or any device that will allow you to predict the weather. It is entirely random and fluctuating, so the best you can do is wait for sunshine.

Also, there are things to keep in mind while catching Numel. This dual-type Pokémon has its weakness and you can use this to make things easier and faster for you. It is pretty vulnerable to ground-type moves, but water attacks will undoubtedly hit some severe blow as it deals 4x more damage. Inflict a bit of damage without making it faint before tossing your Pokeball for a sure catch.

Lastly, catching Numel not only adds a single entry to your Pokédex, but it also gives out materials you can use on other things. Defeating a single or a group of Numel grants a generous amount of Numel Lava that you may use to produce TMs in the Technical Machine Machine.

How to evolve Numel into Camerupt in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

A Numel can be seen in the wild at around level 18-31. If you’re able to catch one at a higher level, then you’re in luck. Although Numel does not require any special items and conditions to evolve, the level requirement, on the other hand is relatively high. Numel will grow into Camerupt after reaching level 33.

But you can always level it up in a regular and traditional way. Place it as the first Pokémon in your team and join regular battles and Tera Raid Battles. Alternatively, you may opt to consume Rare Candies or EXP candies. It’s that easy.

Can you get Camerupt without evolving Numel in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

If you want to skip the process of grinding just to evolve Numel into Camerupt, don’t worry as he can be caught in the overworld. You can easily find Camerupt commonly in rocky biomes.

Get your best chances of catching Camerupt at around level 33 to 55 by simply heading to the North Province Area Two. Camerupt is rather large with two volcanoes on its back, therefore easy to spot.

Final Thoughts

According to the Paldea Pokédex, putting him into a violent rage does no good as this will cause the active volcanoes on its back to erupt. Nevertheless, Numel and Camerupt is still a good catch if you’re seeking new addition to your team.
