How to evolve Gligar in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

If you want to evolve Gligar, you will need to level up Gligar at night while it is holding the Razor Fang item. This is a similar method to the one required to evolve Sneasel. Of course, these items and the Pokemon are not readily available so let’s break down how to get the item and Pokemon required for this evolution.

If you want to catch Gligar, you can do so by searching the Paradise Barrens, Fellhorn Gorge, or the Kitakami Wilds on Kitakami Island. This Pokemon also likes to hide around Oni Mountain just like Aipom. Once you are in this area, simply search around until you find the Pokemon you are looking for.

Of course, you can also use a trade code to obtain a Gligar if you don’t already have one.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – Razor Fang Location

The Razor Fang in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can be found in a few different locations:

  1. Wistful Fields – You can find a cave with a Razor Fang near a Tera Raid.
  2. Pokedex Reward – You will get a Razor Fang as a reward for filling in 110 entries in the Kitakami Pokédex.
  3. Ogre Oustin’ – You can get a Razor Fang as a reward for completing the Ogre Oustin’ minigame

Evolving Gligar in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

As mentioned above, you need the Razor Fang to evolve Gligar into Gliscor. Once you have equipped this item to your Pokemon, wait for it to become night. You can check the in-game time by going to the menu. Keep in mind that the game has its own day/night cycle and does not follow real-life time.

Once it is nighttime in the game, simply level up your Gliscor to get it to evolve. This can be done through battling or you can use EXP Candies and Rare Candy.
