Want to learn how to refund MW3? After a controversial launch, players are requesting refunds for the latest Call of Duty title. A lackluster campaign and other issues have prompted fans to return the game.

While some pre-orders offered Early Access to the campaign, players still had to wait till November 10 to start getting rewards from the MW3 battle pass. It didn’t take long for fans to criticize its open combat missions and the general length of the MW3 campaign. Now that the game is out, here are the best MW3 loadouts to work towards.

How to request a refund for MW3

Getting an MW3 refund depends on the platform’s refund policy. Each of them has specific restrictions and has specific pages to request refunds. We’ve outlined all the options for players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Steam refund

Steam usually processes refunds quickly when you meet their criteria and follow this process. Here’s how to request an MW3 refund on Steam:

  • Note that you can only request a refund 14 days from the day you purchased MW2. You shouldn’t have played the game for over 2 hours as well. While you can still request for a refund if you fail to meet these criteria, it makes it difficult to get a refund.
  • Sign in to your Steam account on the official Steam Support page.
  • Head over to Purchases and select Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. If it isn’t displayed here, it means that your purchase is not eligible to receive a refund.
  • Then select “I would like a refund” in the problems with purchase menu.
  • You’ll get a refund request form to fill out. Fill it out and then wait up to a week.

Blizzard.net refund

If you purchased the game on Activision-Blizzard’s platform, here’s how to refund MW3:

  • Sign into the Blizzard website and click “Support” next to your BattleTag.
  • Select the game you want to refund. Head to the “Payments” option on the game’s support page.
  • Click “Request a refund,” state your reason, then submit the request. Expect a reply in a couple of business days. Depending on the payment method, the refund transaction can take up to 6 weeks.

Xbox refund

Here’s how Xbox players can refund MW3:

  • While Steam’s 14-day eligibility criterion applies here, there’s no maximum amount of game time that is checked. But it should be a minimal amount of playtime to successfully get a refund.
  • Sign in to your Xbox account on the Xbox refund page.
  • Select Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 from your Order History.
  • In order details, select the Refund Request. Here, enter a valid reason and submit your request. Expect a reply in a few days.

PSN refund

PlayStation players, follow these steps to refund MW3:

  • This one’s a bit of an oddball. While its 14-day eligibility makes sense, you apparently won’t be eligible for a refund if you start to download or stream the game unless it’s bugged.
  • Head to Contact PlayStation Support from the official PlayStation Store refund page.
  • Click PS Store and Refunds to speak to a Refund assistant,
  • Here, you’ll be asked to send details like your PSN ID, email address, date of birth, and the name of the game you want to refund. Expect an answer within a week.
