In the Modern Warfare 3 Gora Dam mission, you’re heading to Gora Dam near Verdansk to scupper Makarov’s plans to flood the city and cause untold civilian deaths. Playing as Ghost, you’ll team up with Soap to engage the Konni Forces at the dam and prevent a false flag attack.

We’ll walk you through how to complete the Modern Warfare 3 Gora Dam mission. It’s another Open Combat Mission with a semi-open area, meaning you’ll have some as to how you go about ticking off objectives. We also have walkthroughs for the rest of the campaign, include the Payload, Flashpoint, Frozen Tundra, Oligarch, and Highrise missions.

Modern Warfare 3 Gora Dam walkthrough

When you gain control of Ghost, your objective is to defuse four bombs dotted around the Gora Dam. Bring up your map and you’ll see the vague location of each one. We’ll head to the closest one first, which is southwest of Ghost’s starting spot.

Parachute off the dam towards the marker. At ground level, there’s an entrance leading to an underground tunnel. Hack the mines as you enter then gun down the enemies inside. You’ll find the bomb to defuse in a control room at the back.

Head back outside and south towards the next objective marker, which will lead you to a truck parked in the middle of the road between the tunnels and the building to the south. Jump up and defuse the bomb.

Enter the building to the south of the truck. Make your way through to the other side, then take the stairs down to a walkway that runs above the water. About half-way down, you’ll find the third bomb to defuse in a small alcove.

Follow the water east, clearing enemies as you, until you reach the fourth bomb objective marker. The bomb itself is under water below a large drainage pipe that runs north-east. Check the image above for the exact location. Dive down and defuse it.

Reach the Exit Location

With all the bombs defused, all that’s left to do is exfil. The exfil spot is located in the west of the map, not far from the third bomb you defused. Retrace your steps along the water. You’ll meet some resistance to stay wary as you move forward.

Jump aboard the helicopter at the evacuation point to wrap up the Modern Warfare 3 Gora Dam mission. Next up is the Danger Close mission.
