Emma Frost’s addition to Marvel Rivals Season 2 as a Vanguard delivers a dynamic ability kit that combines telepathic precision and diamond-hard resistance, making her an excellent choice for players looking to dominate the current roster meta. Her dual-form mechanics—shifting between ranged psychic attacks and melee brawling—provide unrivaled adaptability, allowing her to adapt to different team compositions and counter popular strategies.

Previous Next 1 of 5 Previous NextEmma’s primary weapon in her human form is Telepathic Pulse, which launches a psionic beam that increases damage over time. This shines in the poke-heavy meta dominated by characters like Doctor Strange and Luna Snow, as consistent pressure whittles away opponent frontlines. Position her behind a tank like Magneto or Groot, and use her range to take out squishy Duelists like Star-Lord or Hela before they can bridge the distance. The beam’s rising damage punishes overextended enemies, forcing withdrawals and making room for your squad to push objectives such as payloads or control locations.
Her Mind’s Aegis ability, which creates a deployable barrier, is a game changer in a meta dominated by projectile-based characters like Iron Man and Scarlet Witch. Place it strategically to block choke points or protect allies during a push, reducing burst damage and allowing Strategists like Mantis or Rocket Raccoon to heal or reposition safely. Pair this with a mobile Vanguard, such as Peni Parker, who can dive while Emma maintains the line, dividing enemy attention and gaining map dominance.
Her third human-form ability, Psychic Spear, converts an enemy’s sentience into a crystalline form that teammates can shatter for further damage. This shines in comparison to tanky Vanguards like Hulk and The Thing, who dominate the frontlines. Team up with high-damage dealers such as Black Panther or Psylocke to target the crystal, boosting their burst potential and quickly demolishing tough opponents. In a meta where tank survival is important, Emma becomes a priority target, diverting focus away from your backline.
Emma becomes a melee powerhouse when she switches to Diamond Form, which grants her damage reduction and immunity to crowd control. Use this against aggressive Duelists like Wolverine or Venom, who thrive on diving squishy supports. Her Faceted Fury combo, a flurry of punches, deals tremendous close-range damage, making it ideal for finishing out low-health targets after a Psychic Spear setup. Time the shift when enemies engage in a brawl, breaking their rhythm and tanking attacks that might otherwise destroy your team.
Carbon Crush, a Diamond Form ability, allows Emma to leap forward, grab an attacker, and slam them down, dealing massive damage. This is particularly effective at isolating crucial targets, such as Luna Snow or Jeff, halting their abilities in mid-cast. Chain it with Faceted Fury for a devastating combo, or use it to clear your backline by tugging a diver like Spider-Man away from your Strategists.
Crystal Kick, a Diamond Form ability that knocks enemies back, is particularly effective on maps featuring ledges like Krakoa. Position yourself near environmental dangers to send enemies like Namor or Cloak & Dagger to their deaths, instantly reducing enemy ranks. It disturbs positioning against grounded competition, allowing your team to build up ultimate.
Her ultimate ability, Psionic Seduction, creates a psychic wave that stuns and silences enemies, forcing them to approach her after prolonged exposure. In a meta where ultimates like Luna Snow’s healing or Magneto’s crowd control define team fights, this ability eliminates their threats. Start with it during a stalemate, then couple it with Scarlet Witch or Thor’s AoE ultimates to wipe off gathered enemies.
Finally, the Mind Link Team-Up with Magneto and Psylocke adds another layer of deceit by offering them false projections that mirror their actions and abilities. Magneto, a meta staple, benefits from doubling his shield or bubble output, which overwhelms enemies with defensive options. It improves Psylocke’s flanking abilities, confusing enemies as she attacks from different angles. Emma anchors this synergy by getting additional health and thrives when teamed up with these heroes to undermine opponent coordination.
