How to slide in Madden 24

To defend yourself against a rushing defensive, you can get your quarterback to slide by pressing X on the Xbox, or Square on the PlayStation. PC players can slide by pressing Q. This is exactly how you could slide in Madden 23 so for those familiar with the series, there are no surprises.

For those looking to get into Madden, as per the last game,you can only slide upon sprinting with your player and it must be done once you pass the line of scrimmage. It’s important to treat your quarterback with care and caution, considering how drastically different your offense will flow without your starter.

The timing of the slide is essential. Initiate the slide early enough to avoid contact but not too early that you lose significant yardage. Aim to start the slide when you’re a couple of steps away from an approaching defender. If you are too close to the defender then the slide animation will not activate. 

Make sure to double-tab the slide button, as a single tap will result in a dive animation instead. Although this might not make a huge difference, you may lose valuable yardage.
