While you wait, you will see the matchmaking symbol appear on the menu. You can even walk off and explore while you wait. When you are connected, you will teleport to the world of a random player.

Once you enter another player’s world, you will have the objective of killing the host. When you defeat a target, you will get a Severed Hand. This is similar to other currencies such as Vigor and Plucked Eyeball. You can bring Severed Hands to the Shrine of Adyr to earn rewards.
