As you explore Bohemia, you’ll come across – and likely steal – stacks of ingredients such as vegetables, raw meat, and honey. While you can eat some of these raw, you can also fire them up in tasty snacks to keep your nourishment topped up when you’re out and about exploring and questing.
Though plenty of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s systems are explained in great detail, including lockpicking and pickpocketing, there’s not much to point players in the right direction when it comes to the art of cuisine. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to cook in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
You can cook at any stove. Captured by VideoGamerKingdom Come Deliverance 2 cooking explained
To cook, you’ll need to use a stove, which you can find in most inhabited houses, in taverns, and in kitchens in larger settlements like Trosky Castle. You’ll know there’s the option to cook, when you see a pot on the stove you can either eat or steal food from.
Hover over the frying pan and tap the Cook Item button prompt. Captured by VideoGamerApproach the stove and to the right of the pot, you’ll see a frying pan. Hover your reticule over it and you’ll see a prompt to ‘Cook item’. Tap the corresponding button prompt – E on PC, X on PlayStation 5, and A on Xbox. This will bring up your inventory, listing any items you have that can be cooked. For example, we have some carrots. Select what you want to cook then confirm, per the button prompt instructions on the bottom right of the screen.
Select your ingredients then confirm. Captured by VideoGamerHenry will then automatically cook up the ingredients you selected and the item will be put into your inventory. You can then eat it, drop it, sell, or whatever else you want to do with it as you would any other food item.
Cooking items helps them last longer, meaning you’re less likely to be carrying around spoiled food that will give Henry food poisoning, sapping your energy levels. That’s particularly the case with meat that will last significantly longer when cooked.
