Contents hide Battle of the Frogs and Mice border nail location Tell Thrush you found the border nailWhether you decide to side with Olbram in the Frogs side quest or Prochek in the Mice side quest, you’ll end up playing through the Battle of the Frogs and Mice. To avoid a punch up in the pasture between Tachov and Zhelejov, you can have a word with the Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz and scour a chronicle for a clue. This will lead you to a Latin phrase you can translate by talking to the scribe. From there, you’ll be sent to the famed pasture to try and figure out the true boundary between the two warring villages.
The search area is quite large, meaning you’ll have to scour the entire pasture to find a single nail. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find the border nail in the pasture in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

To find the border nail, look for a large oak tree in the middle of the pasture, just south of the road in the very middle of the pasture. It’s just left of the quest marker on the map. Check the image above for the exact map location. The nail itself is planted into the eastern side of the tree’s trunk. Turns out neither Olbram nor Prochek were right about the border of the land. You have the option to shift it to a different tree up or down the field depending on whose side you’re on.
The exact location of the border nail is mentioned in the Trosokovice Chronicle book on the pedestal in the scribe’s house in Troskowitz where you found the Latin phrase. Under the About the Avenue of the Stranger, there’s mention of a tree of simple origin that ‘reminds us of the border between the lands of Tachov and Zelejov.’

Once you have the nail, make your way back to Troskowitz and talk to the Bailiff Thrush. Report that you found the border in the pasture. Now, head to the pasture with either Prochek or Olbram (depending on which of the Mice and Frogs side quests you followed).

Previous Next 1 of 3 Previous NextAt the pasture, the Bailiff Thrush will show up. Though you can choose any of the dialogue options, it’s best to avoid the ‘idiots’ one and select the ‘Isn’t it time to make up?’ if you value your reputation. You’ll then unlock the Truce achievement for helping two quarreling villages reconcile, but the fun isn’t over. You’ll be given the option to not so politely tell one or both of the two men to shut up. We recommend ‘Can’t you just make up already?’ to safeguard your reputation.
Talk to Thrush one last time to wrap up the Battle of the Frogs and Mice side quest. You’ll get the Master’s Studies I book for your trouble.
