David de Gea was at Manchester United for over a decade, but the club has decided to let him go. So, is David de Gea in FC 24?

Now a free agent, you might have your eye on him as a cheap signing in FC 24 Career Mode. However, it might not be so simple to bring him in! 

Is de Gea in FC 24?

Is de Gea in FC 24? Unfortunately, the answer is no. David de Gea is not in FC 24.

Despite some players featuring as free agents, the Spaniard is not one of them! This means you won’t be able to find him in Career Mode or in FC 24 Ultimate Team. 

The only de Gea that will come up when you search is Ruben de Gea, another Spanish keeper. He has a 55 OVR and plays for Burgos CF in the Spanish second division, now known as LaLiga Hypermotion.

Annoyingly, David de Gea is not included as a free agent as he doesn’t play for the national team. So, although Mexican Jesus Corona plays for Monterrey in Liga MX, with the club and league not licensed in FC 24, he will still appear as a free agent as he does play for Mexico, which is in the game! 

If de Gea signs for a club that is included in FC 24, or makes a surprise appearance for the Spain national team, then we would expect him to be added to the game in a future squad update. However, that is looking highly unlikely, with the 32-year-old only wanting to join a major club where he is guaranteed to be the no.1.

That is a shame, as in FIFA 23 de Gea had a rating of 87 OVR. Many were expecting that they could snap up a top-level keeper for free in FC 24, only having to cover the cost of his wage! That would have been ideal for a mid-table club looking to push on into the European spots in the league.
