- All players on your team have to vote unanimously for the remake to take place.
- You won’t lose rank after remaking – it will be as if the match never happened.
Valorant has been crushing the competitive FPS scene with its interesting Agents and explosive gameplay. While the game heavily relies on teamwork, as the abilities of each team member are essential for securing rounds, you’ll sometimes find yourself in a game where a teammate disconnects before the second round. Admittedly, winning while being one player short is nearly impossible. However, Valorant provides you with a way to avoid losing your ranked games like this with the help of their Remake feature.
Remaking the match in Valorant
Being in a 4v5 situation makes the match extraordinarily unbalanced and unfair, as each player’s role is vital to winning. Even if the disconnected player re-joins later into the game, losing the first few rounds snowballs into a massive round deficit which is challenging to overcome later on.
While remaking is a great way to prevent unfortunate losses, the technique can only be employed in certain situations. Let’s check them out.
When can you remake the match?
Remake cancels the match, completely nullifying it. But initiating it may not be as straightforward as it seems. Certain conditions must be fulfilled before you can effectively commence a Remake vote. Here’s a list of conditions that need to be fulfilled if you want a successful remake:
- In a 4v5 situation, one of your team members disconnects during the 1st pistol round and is not spawned during the 2nd round.
- Remaking is impossible in a full party of 5 members, even if one of the players disconnects.
- A Remake vote can be initiated during the buying phase of the 2nd round after the 1st pistol round ends.
- The buy phase lasts for 30 seconds, and each team member has to vote during that time.
- No other opportunity for Remake is given if the initial vote fails.
- You can only remake in the Unrated and Competitive modes of the game.
How to remake?
If the conditions described earlier are met, you can initiate a Remake. Follow the steps described below to understand how to Remake.
- Press Enter to bring up your in-game chat.
- Type the /remake command in the chat and hit Enter.
- Doing so will initiate the remake vote.
- All available members of the team have to press F5 or select Yes on their screen to complete the voting process.
A Remake is only possible when all team members vote for it unanimously. If a single team member presses F6 or chooses the No option, the remake will be cancelled, and you will not get another opportunity to cancel the match.
✓ Extra tipRight after a successful vote to remake, you will be automatically returned to the queue. There is also evidence to believe that you’ll be moved further along, so you can expect to find a new match fairly quickly.
What are the rank penalties after a remake?
No penalty is incurred on any players in the server after the Remake. The match simply gets cancelled, and no record of it appears in your match history either.
However, the disconnected players are not that lucky. They get penalized for a complete match loss, and their rank rating is deducted accordingly. Furthermore, they get a possible “abandon penalty”, resulting in a temporary ban from competitive games. The duration of the ban ranges from a few minutes to several weeks depending on how frequently they abandon games.
