Whether you want a slower paced mission or need time to find Dataslates, there are times when playing through Operations solo without the risk of random players jumping in makes more sense. Fresh off an update that landed in late September 2024, it’s now possible to play Space Marine 2 Operations solo by setting up private PvE lobbies. In these, you can play with AI or alongside one friend and an AI instead of random matchmaked players. We’ll walk you through how to set up a private PvE lobby and play Operations solo.

- Navigate to the Operations Tab
- In the top right, you’ll see Private Mode either toggled on or off
- Press Y (or your platforms corresponding prompt) to switch the session type to On
- Select an Operations mission on the left as you normally would

As it stands, solo play and private PvE lobbies are only available in Operations mode, but you use the co-op and crossplay features to play through the Campaign with friends. Don’t forget to switch off Private Mode if you want to play in open, public lobbies.
