But what if you want to design one yourself instead of playing the maps that other players have designed? There are a lot of mechanics to learn, because this mode is very different from the classic Battle Royale mode. Let’s start talking about how to keep inventory in Fortnite Creative, for players who want to create their own map without wasting any more time.

One of the most efficient features of Fortnite is its simple interface design. Even new players can get used to all of the game’s settings in a matter of minutes. This is also true for the Fortnite Creative mode. As we said at the beginning, there are thousands of different mechanics, objects and rule sets that you can use when you start creating your own map. If you do not know where to look, you may have trouble adding what you need to the map. Here’s how players who die in Fortnite Creative keep their inventory:

  1. Open your map in Fortnite Creative.
  2. Open the main menu and select Settings while on the My Island tab.
  3. Scroll down and find the Eliminated Players Items setting.
  4. Set it to Keep.

Unless you restore this setting, players who die while playing your map will continue to keep all items in their inventory. If you want items to drop when you die on the map you designed, you can change this setting to Drop at any time.

For item keeping to make sense in Fortnite Creative, the purpose of the game must also be appropriate to the map. For example, if you have designed a map where you can earn extra XP to earn Battle Pass rewards, this option might not make much sense. However, if you are designing a battle map like 1v1 or Deathmatch and you want players to keep their stuff, you can use this setting.

That’s all we can share about how to keep inventory in Fortnite Creative for now. Good luck on your Creative adventure as it is a completely different world, independent of the classic Battle Royale mode. If you invest enough time and learn the mechanics, we are sure you will be able to design a great map that tens of thousands of players will want to play in no time.
