Open your map in Fortnite Creative.
Open the main menu and select Settings while on the My Island tab.
Scroll down and find the Eliminated Players Items setting.
Set it to Keep.

Unless you restore this setting, players who die while playing your map will continue to keep all items in their inventory. If you want items to drop when you die on the map you designed, you can change this setting to Drop at any time.
