What Is Crown Of Insight

Crowns of Insight is one of the rarest forms of currency in Genshin Impact. They are required if one wishes to upgrade a character’s talent from level 9 to 10 and reap the benefits of “crowning” said character. Since every character has three talents, namely a normal attack, an elemental skill, and an elemental burst, three Crowns of Insight are required to unlock a character’s full potential.

Many players often carry the misconception that Genshin Impact surely offers enough Crowns of Insight to crown every character in the game fully. However, the truth is that the number of Crowns of Insight obtainable does not even come close. With that said, one is advised to save them and only use them once they are absolutely sure about it. After all, the Genshin Impact roster is an ever-growing lineup of characters.

How To Get Crown Of Insight

In Genshin Impact, there are two ways of obtaining Crowns of Insight: permanent Offering Systems or limited-time events. Let’s dive into both of these: 

Offering Systems

Offering Systems, similar to the Statues of The Seven, are unique structures found in Treyvat, one in each region. However, since we only have four regions at the moment (Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru), one can obtain only four Offering Systems Crowns of Insight.

Mondstadt

The Offering System in Monstadt is known as the Frostbearing Tree’s Gratitude, which, as the name states, is found at the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine, Mondstadt. The Offering System is leveled up through a red crystal-like adventure item known as Crimson Agate which, if you’re interested in the lore, is nutritious for the Frostbearing Tree. 

Crimson Agate can be found around Dragonspine, where it evidently stands out in the snowy environment. The following are the rewards obtained by leveling up the Offering System all the way up to level 12, where a Crown of Insight is rewarded at level 11.

Liyue

The Offering System in Liyue is known as the Lumenstone Adjuvant, which can be accessed through Jinwu, a Safety Technician found in The Chasm. The Lumenstone Adjuvant is an item in Jinwu’s possession, and the idea is to strengthen this item through Lumenspars and Lumenstone Ores and be rewarded for it.

Lumenspars and Lumenstone Ores are blue minerals that, as one may expect, can be found in The Chasm: The Underground Mines area. The following are the rewards obtained by leveling up the Offering System all the way up to level 10, where a Crown of Insight is rewarded at level 4.

Inazuma

The Offering System in Inazuma is known as the Sacred Sakura’s Favor, which is located in the Grand Narukami Shrine found on Narukami Island, Inazuma. The Offering System is enhanced by means of Electro Sigils, an Elemental Sigil that serves as a very important currency in Inazuma. Unlike the mineral resources discussed beforehand, Elemental Sigils can be obtained by completing quests in said region.

It’s important to note that this is the only Offering System yet that is actually gated behind a level and quest requirement, so make sure you’re at adventure rank 30 and have done the “Ritou Escape plan” quest before proceeding. The plus side of such a requirement is that the rewards are more luxurious, with the Offering System rewarding players with a total of five Crowns of Insight, each at levels 5, 15, 25, 35, and 35.

Sumeru

The Offering System in Sumeru is known as the Vanarana’s Favor which can be found at the Tree of Dreams in Vanarana, Sumeru. Similar to the Sakura’s Sacred Favor Offering System in Inazuma, Vanarana’s Favor can be enhanced by offering Sumeru Sigils. This local currency is most commonly obtained by completing quests in the region.

Furthermore, similar to the foregoing Offering System, Vanarana’s Favor only has a quest requirement, where the quest in question is the “Tree and Dreams” quest. As such, it rewards three Crowns of Insight, more than the Offering System in Monstadt and Liyue but less than Sakura’s Sacred Favor. These are obtained at levels 5, 15, and 25.

According to the many Flagship events we’ve experienced so far since the beginning of Genshin Impact, Hoyoverse always rewards a Crown of Insight at the end of each event. Even when writing this guide, the Akitsu Kimodameshi event of Version 3.3 rewards a Crown of Insight at the end of its completion.
