Let’s take a look at the best builds in Honkai Star Railfor Asta. Asta has been in Honkai Star Rail since launch, and she is given to everyone for free as part of the story. Despite her free status, she is fairly useful in many situations.

With patch 1.3, Asta is a featured character on Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae’s banner. If you’re going for Eidolons or you want to invest in her, this guide is for you. Asta is a Fire Harmony support-based character who can buff your team, to this end the best build for Asta is to emphasise her support capabilities. Asta needs HP, Speed, and Energy Regenation.

Honkai Star Rail 1.3 release has introduced a slew of new functions and changes to the game. As ever with updates like this, the featured character banners are the most important additions to Star Rail. Without further delay, let’s look at the best builds for Asta in Honkai Star Rail.

Asta best Light Cones

Asta is a Harmony character, meaning she is best suited to buff your party. The best Light Cone for Asta is the five-star Light Cone called But the Battle Isn’t Over, which is technically the signature Light Cone for Bronya. Most of the signature Light Cones in the Standard Warp Banner are incredibly good for any in that specific Path.

With that in mind, there are some free-to-play and four-star Light Cone options available for Asta, so don’t worry if you don’t have the five-star one. If you happen to have the Battle Pass Harmony Light cone, Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds, you should consider using this on Asta but we don’t recommend buying the Battle Pass. Check out this table below for Asta’s best Light Cones.

This effect can be triggered after every 2 uses of the wearer’s Ultimate. When the wearer uses their Skill, the next ally taking action (except the wearer) deals 30% more DMG for 1 turn.Dance! Dance! Asta’s Best Light Cone

Out of all these options, you should give Asta the 4-star Light Cone Dance! Dance! Dance! If you’re choosing out of these. Obviously, the five-star Light Cone But the Battle Isn’t Over is perfect for Bronya, but if you don’t have her then Asta can use it extremely well. If you have no other options, give Asta Chorus until you can find a better replacement.

Asta best Relics and Planar Ornaments

To get the most out of Asta as a Support character, the build we recommend focuses on enhancing her strengths, such as her Speed buff from her Ultimate and the ATK bonus provided by her Skill. To that end, you have some Relic options that lend themselves well to making Asta a decent buffer with decent survivability.

TypeSetSet BonusReasonRelicMessenger Traversing HackerspaceTwo-piece bonus: Increases SPD by 6%.
Four-piece bonus: When the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases by 12% for 1 turn. This effect cannot be stacked.Messenger Traversing Hackerspace is the best Relic set for Asta if she is the only one using this set in your party. It increases her Speed further, which is perfect for her and synergises with her Ultimate, which already increases Speed for the entire party.RelicMusketeer of Wild WheatTwo-piece bonus: ATK increases by 12%.
Four-piece bonus: The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.If someone in your party is already using the Messenger Traversing Hackerspace and you don’t want to change that, then the Musketeer of Wild Wheat is the second-best set to give to Asta. This will also increase her Speed which will benefit her greatly.Planar OrnamentBroken KeelTwo-piece bonus: Increases the wearer’s Effect RES by 10%. When the wearer’s Effect RES is at 30% or higher, all allies’ CRIT DMG increases by 10%.The Broken Keel Planar Ornament set is best for Asta if you have a team made up of non-DoT party members since it provides a party-wide increase to Crit DMG and DoTs can’t crit.Planar OrnamentFleet of the AgelessIncreases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies’ ATK increases by 8%.If Asta is supporting a team of DoT characters, then you will want to use the Fleet of the Ageless Planar Ornament. Asta’s Speed will activate the secondary effect on this set, increasing ATK for the whole party which means increased DoT ticks.

To break it down in simple terms, Asta can be flexible for whatever your current party needs. If you run her with a team full of usual DPS characters and one Harmony character, she will work best with the four-piece Messenger set and the two-piece Broken Keel Planar Ornament.

If your party is full of characters who deal damage using DoTs, then you want to shift Asta’s Planar Ornaments around. Giving Asta Fleet of the Ageless when paired with DoT characters will increase their damage output, letting them tick for more damage each turn.

When it comes to main and substats, you want to focus on HP, Speed, and Energy Regen which is all fairly simple when building Asta in her Support role. Regardless of which set you go for, the main stats should always be the same.

Asta Traces priority

Asta’s talents should be levelled to ensure her buffs support the team as much as possible. When it comes to the main priority, you should level her Traces in this order: Ultimate, Talent, Skill. Her Basic Attack is not a priority since she should not be dealing damage to enemies with it. Her Ultimate is the most important since it provides a Speed buff to the whole party.

TraceEffectBasic AttackDeals Fire DMG equal to 50% of Asta’s ATK to a single enemy.SkillDeals Fire DMG equal to 25% of Asta’s ATK to a single enemy and further deals DMG for 4 extra times, with each time dealing Fire DMG equal to 25% of Asta’s ATK to a random enemy.UltimateIncreases SPD of all allies by 36 for 2 turns.TalentGains 1 stack of Charging for every different enemy hit by Asta plus an extra stack if the enemy hit has Fire Weakness. For every stack of Charging Asta has, all allies’ ATK increases by 7.0%, up to 5 times. Starting from her second turn, Asta’s Charging stack count is reduced by 3 at the beginning of every turn.TechniqueImmediately attacks the enemy. After entering battle, deals Fire DMG equal to 50% of Asta’s ATK to all enemies.Bonus AbilityWhen Asta is on the field, all allies’ Fire DMG increases by 18%.Bonus AbilityAsta’s Basic Attack has an 80% base chance to Burn an enemy for three turns. Burned enemies take Fire DoT equal to 50% of DMG dealt by Asta’s Basic Attack at the start of each turn.Bonus AbilityAsta’s DEF increases by 6% for every current Charging stack she possesses.

Asta Eidolons

Before we get into it, we want to provide a warning that Eidolons in Honkai Star Rail are never worth spending money on since it costs an absurd amount of real money to have enough Stellar Jade to do so. However, if you are interested in Asta’s Eidolons, then knowing which ones to aim for is beneficial.

  1. Star Sings Sans Verses or Vocals – When using Skill, deals DMG for one extra time to a random enemy.
  2. Moon Speaks in Wax and Wane – After using her Ultimate, Asta’s Charging stacks will not be reduced in the next turn.
  3. Meteor Showers for Wish and Want – Skill LV. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent LV. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
  4. Aurora Basks in Beauty and Bliss – Asta’s Energy Regeneration Rate increases by 15% when she has two or more stacks of Charging.
  5. Nebula Secludes in Runes and Riddles – Ultimate LV. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK LV. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
  6. Cosmos Dreams in Calm and Comfort – Charging stacks lost in each turn is reduced by one.

Generally speaking, Asta’s Eidolons aren’t anything too special. We would say her best one is E2, giving her more uptime on her Charging buff which provides an ATK boost to all party members.

That’s how to build Asta as a Support and the best builds for her. Looking for other Honkai Star Rail character builds? Check out our guide on the best builds for Imbibitor Lunae and the best Kafka builds in Honkai Star Rail.
