The 33-year-old singer has dominated charts with his hits, so it makes sense for Epic Games to add him to the popular game. However, it’s important to note that Tesfaye will not come to the game with the release of Fortnite Chapter 5. Instead, Epic will release him a few days into the new season.
Will The Weeknd have a concert in Fortnite?
The Weeknd will perform in Fortnite Festival, a new game mode arriving in Chapter 5. According to Epic Games, the new game mode will go live on Saturday, December 9, and this is when The Weeknd will take the stage. At the moment, we don’t know if he will have a full concert. However, we can expect at least 10 minutes of fun.
Epic teased the Festival game mode with Eminem’s performance in The Big Bang event. The popular rapper first had a short concert, which was a preview of what’s waiting for us in Chapter 5. Due to this, we’ll likely get a fantastic performance by The Weeknd.
Interestingly, Epic Games already collaborated with the artist. The Blinding Lights emote was added to the game in Chapter 2 – Season 4.
The upcoming game mode is developed by Harmonix, the studio behind Rock Band, the iconic music game. It marks the beginning of music gaming in Fortnite, and it’ll be interesting to see all the artists that will come to the popular game.
