How to sell players in FM24
There are a few different methods of selling players, each of which will depend on the player you want to sell, and how in-demand they are. Naturally, a player that’s regularly playing well will attract more attention than a player who hasn’t played all season. We’ll go through each method and when you should use them.
Before using any of these methods, be sure to have a chat with the player’s agent (if they have one). You can select the ‘Ask agent about market interest’ option to see whether they think there is any rumoured interest from clubs in the player’s transfer. This agent feedback is a great tool when selling a player and you shouldn’t ignore it.
Another thing to watch out for is how the player reacts to being offered to clubs. Most players will not care one way or the other, but if you have a player who would be unhappy at being offered out, we would recommend against this as it can upset the player, and the rest of the dressing room too.

The TransferRoom is a feature where you can offer a specific player out to clubs to try and drum up any new interest and offers. On the player profiles page, head to the ‘Transfer’ tab at the top, and click ‘Offer via TransferRoom’. This will bring you to a page where you can set your overall transfer fee, any specific teams you want to offer the player to, and more.
This should be the first thing you do when trying to sell a player, as it could result in a quick offer to help you offload the player, especially if they’re in high demand. If a player doesn’t have any active interest in them at the time, you can try lowering your price tag below the player’s current market value. After lowering it enough, certain clubs may see this as the right price and make an offer.

While offering your player out in TransferRoom, in the bottom right corner you’ll see an option to ‘Transfer list and set player as surplus to requirements’. Ticking this box means when you offer your player out, you’ll officially place them on the transfer list for the set asking price, signalling to all other clubs that this player is on the market. This transfer fee can be altered at any time on the transfer status screen, as well as the player’s loan status.
✓Alex’s Advice
If a player hasn’t played for a while, it might be worth sending them out on loan first. Getting some games under their belt might boost their transfer value, getting you a bit more money for them in the future.
This is unlikely to get you any immediate offers, and is something we would recommend doing for any players that you’re really struggling to sell.

A new feature for FM24 is the introduction of intermediaries to help you sell your players under the Transfer tab. Effectively, this lets you hire someone to do all the hard work for you, approaching clubs to get you some offers for this player. In exchange, they will take a certain percentage of the final transfer fee. Intermediary options are great if you’re really struggling to get rid of a certain player, and you aren’t too worried about the fee you get for them.
Depending on how good the intermediary is and when you hire them, the price may change. Lower ability intermediaries at the start of the transfer window will be fairly cheap, but higher ability intermediaries on deadline day will cost you a pretty penny, so use them wisely.

This is really a last resort for selling a player. If you really can’t sell this player at all, under the Transfer tab you can choose to add them to the unwanted list. This will signal to your Director of Football that this player is up for sale, and they will take steps to get rid of this player. Similarly, you can add players to a development list if you want to send them out on loan instead.
We would recommend doing this for players that you are struggling to sell, and that are not valuable enough to warrant any significant transfer fee. That way, you aren’t missing out on any major money.
