With modern players regularly pigeonholed into defensive or attacking midfielders, finding a true box-to-box central midfielder can be hard to find. Luckily, we’ve got you covered for Career Mode, with a list of ratings for the best young CM in FC 24. 

Some of the best young midfielders are talents that have the potential growth to go right to the top in EA Sports FC 24! Their skillset needs to cover plenty of attributes, from long and short passing to tough tackling, decent acceleration and sprint speed to add pace in the middle, quality on the ball, and good weak foot ability to play out from any angle.

If you’re looking for Jude Bellingham here, however, you won’t find him, with his position changed to CAM since operating there for Real Madrid. So, let’s take a look at the other players who are classed as the best young CMs in FC 24 Career Mode.

Operating between the boxes, a central midfielder could be seen as a jack of all trades. However, a top CM will be a master of them all! There are some truly incredible players coming through in the position. This is good news for your FC 24 Career Mode. 

We are classing the best young players as anyone who is 23 years old or younger at the start of your FC 24 Career Mode save and are including anyone with a base position of CM. 

Pedri – 86 Overall 

Pedri is a youngster who already has a top overall rating in FC 24. The Spaniard isn’t that defensively minded, but he does have incredible ability when on the ball, with excellent dribbling and passing stats. For a technical player he also has top stamina, so he can run the game for the full 90 minutes. He will become one of the best-rated players in the game with a 92 POT! 

Gavi – 83 Overall 

The Spain and Barcelona midfield looks to be sorted for the next decade, with Gavi joining Pedri as one of the best around. He is also more suited to operating higher up the field and breaking down the lines. But with some time spent on the training ground, he can be solid defensively too.

Enzo Fernandez – 82 Overall 

Chelsea haven’t exactly bounced back from their dire campaign last season, with lots of work still to be done. Luckily, they have the class of Enzo Fernandez in the midfield. With N’Golo Kante gone, the Argentine is more relied upon than ever. Speedy, strong, and happy to get stuck in, he is a proper box-to-box player. 

Orkun Kokcu – 82 Overall 

Orkun Kokcu had his pick of top clubs to move to after a brilliant season captaining Feyenoord to Eredivisie title success. He opted for Benfica, which will surely be a stepping stone to an elite team in the future. A very technical player, he can control the tempo and create chances with ease. 

Vitinha – 81 Overall

Part of a fresher-looking PSG midfield, Vitinha will be looked to as the one to progress the ball up the pitch, keep the tempo, and create chances over the next few years. Although he isn’t the most physical around, he reads the game well and is quite handy defensively. With great dribbling, ball control, agility, and balance, he can take the ball in tight spaces and play out from any position.
