Do you need a guide for the Shifting City dungeon in Diablo 4? Dungeons are one of the best activities to complete in Diablo 4, both during the main quest line and in the endgame. They reward you with tons of loot and help you level up quickly.

This dungeon can seem intimidating at first due to its large size, but if you know what you’re doing, it’s a great dungeon to farm. It’s a great dungeon location as well because it’s close to a waypoint. If you need help finding the Shifting City dungeon and know how to beat it, we’re here to show you how.

How to find Shifting City dungeon in Diablo 4

The Shifting City dungeon is found in the Qara Yisu area of the Dry Steppes Region of Sanctuary. It’s due North of the Ruins of Qara-Yisu stronghold, which you’ll need to complete before heading into this dungeon. After cleansing the evil out of Qara Yisu, you’ll also receive a waypoint there, which is very convenient for quick travel.

How to complete Shifting City dungeon in Diablo 4

When you first enter the Shifting City dungeon, you’ll be tasked with returning the two Ancients Statues to the pedestal. Note that you can only carry one of the statues at a time, so don’t bother running around looking for the other if you already are carrying one. Just take them one at a time.

Next up, the door will open and you’ll have to fight a wave of Fallen enemies. Once they’re out of the way, you can go to the Ruins of Anguish, where you’ll have to pick up Animus from Animus Carriers. There are three Animus Carriers, who are elite enemies, roaming around the dungeon. Defeat them and pick up their Animus. However, be careful, as they travel with other enemies. The good news is these carriers are marked with the skull icon on your mini-map, so you won’t have a huge amount of trouble finding them.

Once you’ve collected all the Animus, go to the Animus Urn and deposit the materials. This will open the sealed door so you can head to the boss fight. Make sure to use the healing well before heading in!

How to beat Tomb Lord in Shifting City

The boss for the Shifting City dungeon is the Tomb Lord. Luckily, he’s not too hard to beat. The attacks you need to watch out for are his orbs that turn into tornadoes, and the bone walls he summons that the Tomb Lord can make explode.

I’ve found the best strategy to be keeping a solid distance between you and the boss. If you get stuck near a bone wall, use a skill to teleport away from it, as the explosion can do a good amount of damage. The skeleton mages he summons are also annoying – take them out quickly. Keep moving to avoid his attacks and use your distance attacks to take him out fast.

Once the Tomb Lord is dead, the dungeon is complete.

Shifting City Dungeon Rewards

You’ll of course be rewarded for your hard work in the Shifting City. Along with Gold and Experience, you’ll also unlock the Ravenous Aspect, which will be in your Codex of Power. This Legendary Aspect is for the Rogue class, and grants you increased Energy Regeneration for killing a Vulnerable enemy.

That’s all you need to know to find and complete the Shifting City dungeon. Be sure to check out our Twisting Blades Rogue build to use the rewarded Aspect at its full potential.
