Here’s a Diablo 4 The Pilgrim’s Footsteps quest walkthrough for those of you looking to crack its riddle. The quest will check if players are able to follow in the footsteps of the pilgrims. Players can expect a hidden treasure chest with two elixirs as a reward for completing this quest.

It’s similar to the Diablo 4 Secret of the Spring and Diablo 4 Keeping the Old Traditions quests that involve riddles. You can work on those devilish riddles once you’re done with The Pilgrim’s Footsteps. And here’s more information on the Diablo 4 Season 2 content.

The Pilgrim’s Footsteps quest walkthrough in Diablo 4

To finish The Pilgrim’s Footsteps quest, you need to use the “Follow” emote in front of the statue. As for how to get started, here’s a handy step-by-step guide:

  1. Head to northern Kehjistan. The Iron Wolves encampment waypoint or the Jirandai waypoint lets you head here easily. You’ll find the quest marker in the Amber Sands area, right next to the west coast. Drop a pin here if you haven’t explored it yet. The blue exclamation point sets you on the path of the pilgrims and their secrets.

2. Head over to the Old Book and interact with it. It’s basically an old journal of a pilgrim about the statue of Akarat. Here’s what it says: “Walk the road of faith to a lone desert chapel. Stand at Akarat’s feet, follow his example, and be rewarded.”

3. Your map will then be updated with a quest marker that leads to the Zakarum chapel. Don’t enter the Tomb of the Saints dungeon and move towards the right path. Now follow the Pilgrim’s journey.

4. Once you get to the blue circle, you’ll spot the statue of a bearded man holding a book. He’s hard to miss amidst those stone sarcophagi.

5. Solve the riddle by using the Follow emote in front of the statue of Akarat. It should already be in your emote wheel. Bring it up with E on a keyboard and Up on the D-pad if you’re using a controller.

6. This will bring up a hidden chest near the statue. Open it to finish The Pilgrim’s Footsteps.

Great work. You’ve finished The Pilgrim’s Footsteps side quest in Diablo 4. The quest rewards you with a decent amount of XP and Gold in addition to two elixirs for loot. Emote-based puzzles are common in Diablo 4. This can be done with any Diablo 4 class: Barbarians, Rogues, Sorcerer, Necromancers, and Druids.
