Wondering how to start a mission in Deep Rock Galactic? There are tons of dark, mysterious caves to dive into on the planet Hoxxes IV, but you won’t be able to get into them if you can’t start a mission.

Deep Rock Galactic has tons of unique missions to take part in. With the Special Edition release date coming up, it’s a great time to join in all the fun. Whether you’re teaming up with friends or going solo, starting a mission is how to begin. Here’s how you do it.

How to begin a mission in Deep Rock Galactic

To start a mission, you need to select what one you want to play from the Terminal first. The Terminal is in the center of the Space Rig, and it’s hard to miss. It’s got a glowing globe of Hoxxes IV in the middle. One screen will say Mission Selection. Interact with it, and it will bring up a map with all the missions. Choose which one you want to play.

After you’ve chosen the mission, all you need to do is head into the Drop Pod to begin. The Drop Pod is a large rocket pod with seats inside. Head into it, and the mission countdown timer will begin. Once the countdown timer is finished, you’ll be transported into the caves of Hoxxes IV to begin your mission. Make sure you’ve picked which class you want to play!

Can you start any mission in Deep Rock Galactic?

Before you can play any mission you want, you first need to complete the Conquer Hoxxes IV assignment. This is a 10-mission-long assignment that will give you a start to the game, and teach you the basics. You can find this on the Assignment Board.

There is no way to skip the Conquer Hoxxes IV assignment if you’re just starting out the game. You need to complete it before you’re given more freedom. It’s definitely worth doing, though, and gives you a grasp of what the game is like. When I first began playing, these missions taught me everything I needed to know. Don’t be annoyed, they’re well worth doing.

Not only does the Conquer Hoxxes IV assignment teach you how to play the game, it also allows you to try out all four classes in the game. This can help you decide which one you like best.

Once you’ve completed Conquer Hoxxes IV, you’re free to choose any mission you like! Completing this assignment will unlock all mission types and regions on the planet. This way you can start any mission you please.
