Want to learn how to rotate objects in Cities Skylines 2? Colossal Order’s new city builder promises some massive improvements in the visual side of things. Rotating buildings is crucial to keeping your city neat.
And I don’t just mean visually. Building entrances can congest busy lanes of traffic so rotating them towards arterial roads is an essential part of traffic management. Our Cities Skylines 2 review highlights various facets like these that you have to consider. As for when the game is out, check our Cities Skylines 2 release time guide.
How to rotate objects in Cities Skylines 2?
Select a building or object from the construction menu, then hold right-click to rotate them in Cities Skylines 2. Note that buildings automatically rotate themselves to face the nearest road. Water pumps will automatically snap to lakes and water bodies just like sewage disposal units. But when two roads are nearby, it can be worth pointing buildings towards lanes with less traffic.
This lets you improve traffic in your city. Residential areas aren’t an issue but while placing important buildings for education and other services, rotating them is a good option to have. Pointing your cursor on multiple roads will help you understand the options you can pick from. Try making large buildings like hospitals and universities face away from central roads. Arterial roads leading to them will help unclog your city’s congestion.
That covers how to rotate objects in Cities Skylines 2. Check out the Cities Skylines 2 system requirements before considering a purchase. Our Cities Skylines 2 pre-order bonuses guide will tell you everything about its editions and ways to buy them. The game drops this October on PC but expect Cities Skylines 2 on Xbox and PS5 to launch sometime in 2024.
