How to clear all Cities Skylines 2 pollution types
Cities Skylines 2 asks you to tackle multiple types of pollution: ground, water, noise, and air. While industries are your usual culprits, there are other factors that can influence pollution. Here are some ways to tackle these issues in Cities Skylines 2:
- Ground pollution – Keep your industries away from residential and commercial areas to minimize this. Also, stick to green fuels and recycling plants over fossil fuels and non-renewable energy. Landfills and incinerator plants also generate ground pollution.
- Water pollution – Check the passage of water carefully for this. If you place your water plant downstream and your sewage outlet upstream, this will reduce water quality. So keep the water collection inlet upstream. Using a recycling plant will also cut down on water pollution.
- Noise pollution – Traffic and industries are the main culprits here. You can use parks at strategic locations to absorb the sounds that can assault a citizen’s ears. Try using larger roads between districts to reduce the noise of multiple vehicles passing through.
- Air pollution – We cover this in detail in our how to fix air pollution in Cities Skylines 2 guide. This mostly depends on the wind direction and building structures accordingly. This ensures that fumes don’t reach your city. And try shifting to greener forms of energy if available.
