Finding a dominant shotgun build can be tricky due to their lack of versatility but after spending some time in the Gunsmith, we’ve uncovered a build that excels in close-quarters and is capable of dealing plenty of damage at longer distances.

If you prefer to aim down sights, replace the Full Choke with a Modified Choke for a tighter bullet spread for even better accuracy.

For maximum damage output and range, the combination of Reinforced Barrel and 12 Gauge Slug is perfect for eliminating enemies with a single shot. It also extends the range of the ASG-89 significantly, giving you a fighting chance at longer distances too. Next is the Assault Grip for quicker sprint-to-fire times. It’s very easy to get caught sprinting resulting in slower reaction times. For quicker movement and stability, the Balanced Stock is an excellent choice that suits running and gunning perfectly. Lastly is the Full Choke which increases hipfire spread. Next is the Sleeper Agent which disguises you as a member of the opposing team. Get behind them, clear them out, and earn the highest Scorestreaks available with ease. For your secondary weapon, there’s no better option than the Grekhova – a fast-firing pistol that you can swap over to in a pinch.

Best alternatives to ASG-89

Shotguns in Black Ops 6 aren’t the most popular weapon category out there. If you’re not a fan of the ASG-89, there are plenty of viable options you can fall back on. The KSV submachine gun is an excellent all-rounder while the AMES 85 assault rifle is starting to rise in popularity thanks to its rate of fire and dominant mid-range damage output.
