Sandwiched between the Old Pargrun Wall and Berath’s Gateway in the west of Dawnshore is a small camp with a purple glowing chest. It’s just west of the Western Pargrun Wall Beacon. Approach it and you’ll find that it’s locked and requires the Pyromancer’s Key.

Exploring the immediate area around the chest, including the graveyard and the wall, won’t turn up much in the form of a key. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find the Pyromancer’s Key in Avowed.

How to get the Pyromancer’s Key in Avowed

To find the Pyromancer’s Key, you’ll want to head southwest from the camp, past Berath’s Gateway and into the Fractured Shore area. As you enter the area, look left and you’ll see a broken bridge. Run and jump across the gap – you should just about make it and grapple up onto the ledge. Follow the path under the hanging bridge, then take a left up the hill. Instead of taking the bridge going left, head right into the rocks instead.

As you move forward down the path, you’ll hear a line of dialogue from the Crazed Pyromancer then a large explosion. Press on the edge of the cliff and you’ll find a scorched skeleton. It appears the Pyromancer’s Flamepowder experiments got the better of him. Next to the skeleton, you’ll see an orange glow coming from the Pyromancer’s Key. There’s also a Fine Quality unique Anextli’s Grimoire that’s worth grabbing along with a journal you can read to get some insight on the Pyromancer’s botched plans.

You can now head back over to the Pyromancer’s Chest next to Berath’s Gateway and open it up using the Pyromancer’s Key. Inside, you’ll find a Common Grimoire of Embers, a Common Mail Hauberk armor, x1 Binding Copper, x2 Softwood Branch, x1 Iron Chunk, x1 Pelt, and x4 Grenades.
