Sanza has big plans to piece together a comprehensive map of the Living Lands, starting with Dawnshore. The plan was to send his people out to each of the known regions for them to get the lay of the land. However, Geirmund, his assistant tasked with mapping Dawnshore, has gone missing in the region, and Sanza wants you to find him.

According to the cartographer’s letter, he was last on the region’s eastern side, leaving you with quite a bit of ground to cover to track down Geirmund. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find the cartographer in Dawnshore in the Avowed Mapping the Living Lands side quest.

Dawnshore cartographer location

To find the cartographer in Dawnshore, start out by travelling east out of Paradis near the Militia Barracks and in the Southern Embrace area. Follow the paved road forward until you reach the Southern Embrace Party Camp, then turn left and follow the path north. A little ways up the road, you’ll spot a small camp on the left where you can read Geirmund’s Journal. However, that’s not what we are looking for, but we’re on the right path.

Keep following the road up the hill until you come to the God’s Gate Beacon. Head south at the beacon and you’ll see a shimmering object on the ground among some ruins – Geirmund’s Map.

Return the Dawnshore cartographer’s notes to Sanza

Head into the Paradis Hightown just to the northwest of where you found the map then make your way to the trader in the south. Talk to Sanza and report your findings about Geirmund. This will wrap up the Mapping the Living Lands: Dawnshore side quest. While you’re in the emporium make sure to head into the background to get the totem fragment for the Totem of Rightful Rulership side quest. Now on to the Emerald Stair and Shatterscarp cartographers.
