When Does Dragonflight PvP Season 1 Start and End?
Dragonflight PvP Season 1 was slated to begin on December 12th. However, it ended up starting on the 13th of that same week and month.
Although Blizzard has not given us any information on when we can expect the PvP Season 1 to end, we expect it to last anywhere from the end of March to the middle of April. This is because PvP Seasons typically last around 13 weeks give or take. However, this is simply a rough estimate.

Map Rotation in Dragonflight
Blizzard has implemented map pools for rated arena and arena skirmishes mode in Season 1. However, neither rated solo shuffle nor rated solo shuffle brawl seem to have rotating map pools currently, though they might be added either in a future update or in the next season. The map rotation includes 3 ‘pool’ with 8 maps each, that will rotate weekly. They are as follows:

There’s a special form of currency for players looking to purchase gear, and it’s called conquest points. Although it can be earned quite easily by participating in matches such as Arenas, they do have a maximum limit to how much you can earn in a week.
For Dragonflight Season 1 specifically, the first week’s cap on conquest points is 1350, after which it continues to increase by 550 every week. So the second week will have 1900 and so on. This limit is also called Conquest Cap.
The person who sells you gear for conquest points (also known as conquest quartermaster) is Calderax, and the cost of gear depends on the item slot the gear goes in. For example, the helm, chest, and legs cost 875 Conquest, while shoulders, gloves, and feet cost 700 Conquest.

How to Upgrade Gear
PvP gear can be upgraded using Honor as a form of currency over at Corxian in Valdrakken, the city where the three portals will be. The NPC can be found near the Elite Conquest Quartermaster.
What is the Great Vault?
Returning players will know that the great vault is something that gives you the ability to pick an extra piece of gear once a week, with there being up to three choices given to you depending on how many slots you unlocked. This is a way of rewarding players that make big strides in that specific week.

We say this because the item level of the PvP gear you get depends on the highest rating you achieved that week. As for how to unlock the slots, that depends on how much honor you earn. Earn 1250 honor to unlock the first slot, 2500 for the second one, and 5000 for the third one.
Final Thoughts
Despite there being many things from older seasons in the game returning with this PvP season, it’s great to see Blizzard add so many new features and rewards in Dragonflight PvP Season 1.
While we’ve told you all you needed to know to start playing PvP, the most important thing is that you go out there and practice for yourself against actual players. After all, practice is the best guide of all.
