Will Marvel Rivals come to PS4?

Marvel Rivals, NetEase’s popular 6v6 free-to-play hero shooter has been making waves ever since its release. Since the game’s early days when it was only available to a selected few players by friend invites, fans had been waiting to finally download the game on their devices and play as their favorite character.

Currently in Season 1.5, Marvel Rivals features 37 characters and is available across a variety of platforms, however PlayStation 4 players and previous-gen owners are missing out on the action. The players on those devices have just one question for the devs – will Rivals come to PS4? Here’s everything we know about it.

Is Marvel Rivals coming to PlayStation 4 consoles?

The answer is No. NetEase has not expressed any plans to release Marvel Rivals for PlayStation 4 consoles. Ever since the game’s Closed Alpha and Closed Beta test, the game has only been available on Xbox Series X|S, PC and PlayStation 5 consoles.

Since the game is entirely built on Unreal Engine 5 and requires massive computing power, the devs have optimized the game according to PC and next-gen consoles, and hence have shown no interest to make the game available for next gen consoles.

However some players on social media have been arguing that if the game can handle framerates for recent games like Call of Duty Black Ops 6 or even popular titles like Fortnite, Marvel Rivals should also be able to run on the console, but on a lower FPS than PS5.

But given the amount of graphics and the latest DLSS 4 support for Marvel Rivals on PC, it’s highly unlikely PS4 players will ever get the game on their consoles. So if you’re looking to play Rivals, it’s best to either upgrade to a PS5 or switch your device to something more current gen which is an Xbox or a PC.
