Building a character in Ragnarok Origin: Classic involves more than placing points into a primary stat. Your skills, Divine Armament, equipment set, enchants, feathers, and cards must all support the same combat role. A well-planned build can perform consistently even without perfect equipment, while an unfocused character may struggle despite having a higher Power rating.

This guide serves as a quick-reference resource for the major advanced classes in Ragnarok Origin: Classic. Each section covers a recommended build, stat distribution, essential skills, gear direction, and card priorities. PvE and PvP adjustments are also included when a class requires noticeably different setups.

The available job paths begin with the familiar Swordsman, Mage, Acolyte, Thief, Merchant, and Archer families before branching into specialized advanced jobs.

How Character Builds Work in Ragnarok Origin: Classic

Attributes establish the foundation of a build. Physical attackers usually depend on STR, AGI, DEX, or LUK, while magical classes lean toward INT and DEX. VIT becomes increasingly important in PvP because additional damage means little when a character cannot survive long enough to use it.

Skills should be selected around one main damage or support method. Trying to maximize unrelated abilities normally produces a weaker build than committing to a clear rotation. Prerequisite skills still require points, but remaining points should strengthen the abilities used most often.

Divine Armaments can define how a class plays. Some weapons reduce cooldowns, remove skill restrictions, or strengthen a specific attack. Because of this, choosing a weapon that supports the intended build is often more important than selecting equipment based only on its displayed Power.

Enchants, feathers, and cards should then reinforce the same priorities. A Critical build benefits from Critical Rate, Attack Speed, Physical Attack, and Ignore DEF. A caster may need Magic Attack, casting reduction, and elemental damage. Supports generally value HP, damage reduction, healing bonuses, and defensive effects.

Specific card availability can depend on progression and server conditions. For that reason, the recommendations below focus first on the effects each class needs. Named cards should be treated as optional targets rather than mandatory requirements unless a card directly enables the build.

Lord Knight

Best Build

The recommended Lord Knight setup is a Spiral Pierce build for PvE. It deals strong single-target damage without requiring a large AGI investment, making it effective against MVPs and dungeon bosses. PvP can instead use a shield-oriented setup for greater durability, although a two-handed weapon build remains a possible offensive alternative.

Stats

For PvE, place 99 points into STR, then divide the remaining points between DEX and LUK. Spiral Pierce does not depend heavily on AGI, so DEX and LUK provide more useful offensive value through attack-related bonuses and cooldown support.

PvP should shift some secondary points into VIT, especially when using a shield build.

Core Skills

Spiral Pierce is the center of the build. Aura Blade and Concentration provide additional damage, while Cavalry Mastery and the required spear passives support mounted spear combat. Tension Relax provides recovery, and Provoke can be placed on the manual bar for controlling enemies or helping secure boss aggro.

The automatic rotation should prioritize buffs before repeatedly using Spiral Pierce.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Use the two-handed spear Divine Armament designed around Spiral Pierce. The recommended weapon reduces the skill’s global cooldown and makes it much easier to use repeatedly without stacking AGI. Raising the weapon to an important refinement breakpoint greatly improves the build.

Use STR accessories and offensive armor that increases attack. Enchants should prioritize Physical Attack, melee bonuses, STR, and PvE damage where available. Feathers should focus on Ignore DEF and STR.

Cards should provide Physical Attack, STR, melee damage, Ignore DEF, or damage against the monster size and race being fought.

Paladin

Best Build

Paladin performs best with a Sacrifice auto-attack build. Unlike most physical classes, its damage is strongly connected to maximum HP as well as its offensive stats. It can therefore function as both a durable frontline character and a threatening damage dealer.

The build becomes considerably stronger after obtaining the Divine Armament upgrade that removes Sacrifice’s limited number of empowered attacks.

Stats

A strong distribution is approximately 90 AGI, 94 VIT, and 38 LUK.

VIT provides the HP required for Sacrifice damage while also improving survivability. AGI raises Attack Speed so the Paladin can deliver more empowered attacks during the skill’s duration. LUK supports Critical Rate.

Core Skills

Sacrifice is the main skill. Spear Quicken supports Attack Speed and Critical performance, while Fortitude increases maximum HP and damage reduction. Shield Reflect, Defense Aura, Battle Chant, and defensive passives help the Paladin protect itself and its party.

Gloria Domini can be kept at a low level for its immobilizing utility in PvP. The mounted movement skill is also important because it grants mobility, resistance, and an Endure-style effect.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

The Sacrifice Divine Armament is essential. At its key upgrade level, Sacrifice is no longer restricted to only a small number of attacks and remains effective for the skill’s duration. Before reaching that breakpoint, the class’s damage is much less impressive.

Use a Critical-focused armor setup and equipment that increases HP, VIT, Attack Speed, Critical Rate, and Physical Attack. Cards should follow the same direction, with maximum HP and survivability taking priority over ordinary STR stacking.

This is one of the few builds where an HP card can contribute to both offense and defense.

High Wizard

Best Build

High Wizard can use a full-cast PvE setup, a more durable cast-based PvP setup, or a hybrid Magic Crasher build. The traditional cast build is the safest universal recommendation because it supports both strong area damage and crowd control.

Stats

For PvE, use 99 INT, enough DEX to reach the maximum practical casting reduction, and place the remaining points into LUK for additional Magic Attack.

The supplied build used approximately 86 DEX and 36 LUK, although the exact DEX requirement depends on equipment and buffs.

For PvP, keep 99 INT but move some LUK into VIT. Priest buffs can help compensate for the slightly lower casting reduction.

Core Skills

Meteor Storm is the primary fire AoE option and can inflict Stun. Lord of Vermilion offers lightning damage and Blind, making it particularly disruptive in PvP. Storm Gust can remain at level 1 when it is used mainly for Freeze and displacement rather than damage.

Tetra Vortex enables rapid spell use by temporarily removing casting requirements from the next several abilities. Other important tools include Gravitation Field, Mystical Amplification, Teleport, Element Control, elemental resistances, and a low-level SP-draining skill for resource recovery.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Choose a staff and armor set that support Magic Attack, cast reduction, and the element used most often. PvP equipment should add VIT, maximum HP, and damage reduction rather than pursuing damage alone.

Enchant priorities are Magic Attack, INT, casting reduction, elemental damage, and PvE or PvP damage bonuses. Cards should improve Magic Attack, casting, elemental damage, or survivability. Avoid investing heavily in auto-attack effects unless deliberately using the Magic Crasher variation.

Professor

Best Build

Professor is an elemental caster in PvE and one of the strongest control-oriented magical classes in PvP. It can cast while moving, apply elemental fields, control approaching enemies, manage SP, and remove harmful effects.

Its PvE damage is respectable, but its broad PvP utility is the main reason to choose the class.

Stats

For PvE, use 99 INT, then raise DEX until the desired fixed-cast reduction is reached. The supplied setup used approximately 56 DEX, with remaining points placed into LUK for additional Magic Attack.

For PvP, keep 99 INT and a similar amount of DEX, then invest more heavily in VIT. A small amount of LUK can be retained after the defensive requirement is met.

Core Skills

Max the elemental Bolts so the Professor can attack different armor elements. Double Casting and the class’s magical damage passives strengthen sustained damage, while Free Cast allows movement during spellcasting.

Spider Web is a key PvP skill because it holds an approaching enemy in place and creates time to reposition. Fire and Wind fields are especially useful in PvP because they can add Burn or Blind. Elemental Insight, Spirit Devastation, Soul Change, Psychic Wave, and the control-removal shield complete the toolkit.

Land Protector is valuable in organized PvP but can interfere with allied healing or ground effects in some PvE situations.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Prioritize a weapon and armor set with Magic Attack, INT, cast reduction, and survivability. Elemental damage is useful, but the Professor benefits more than most casters from flexible bonuses because it regularly changes elements.

Cards should increase Magic Attack, casting efficiency, elemental damage, SP stability, or defensive resistance. PvP card slots can be used for HP and control resistance when the Professor is being focused frequently.

High Priest

Best Build

The recommended High Priest build is full support. A damage setup can be used for solo farming or Monster Research, but support remains the class’s strongest role in dungeons, MVP groups, guild content, and PvP.

High Priest is also one of the most accessible classes for players with limited resources because it can focus almost entirely on staying alive and supporting the party.

Stats

Use 99 VIT, followed by INT. Place any small number of remaining points into DEX.

The objective is not to maximize personal damage. The High Priest must survive long enough to heal, buff, cleanse, link allies, and revive fallen party members.

For a separate solo farming preset, use high INT and DEX.

Core Skills

Blessing, Increase AGI, Heal, and Angelus form the basic support package. Sanctuary provides sustained area healing, while Gloria, Recovery, and Resurrection improve party stability.

Safety Wall should receive most spare points. In PvE, take enough Aspersio to support parties fighting Demon and Undead enemies. In PvP, those points can be moved into Safety Wall.

Lex Aeterna is one of the strongest offensive support abilities because it temporarily increases the damage received by a target. Other priorities include status cleansing, the area resurrection skill, the Priest’s movement ability, defensive buffs, Bond of Fate, and Meditation.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Use defensive gear with VIT, maximum HP, healing bonuses, damage reduction, and resistance. Unlike damage dealers, the High Priest does not need to divide resources between offense and defense.

Cards should prioritize maximum HP, healing effectiveness, physical and magical damage reduction, status resistance, and SP recovery. Offensive cards are only useful for a dedicated solo preset.

Champion

Best Build

Champion performs extremely well with a Finger Offensive build centered on rapid Spirit Sphere attacks. The build has high PvE damage and enough self-support to function without depending entirely on a Priest.

Its most important objective is reducing the main attack’s cooldown to roughly 0.24 seconds.

Stats

Raise DEX and INT until the required variable- and fixed-cast reduction is reached. The supplied setup targeted approximately 59% reduction.

After reaching the casting breakpoint, remaining points can be directed toward offensive value or survivability depending on whether the character is being prepared for PvE or PvP.

Core Skills

Finger Offensive, also translated as Spiritual Sphere Shot, is the main damage ability. Zen quickly summons five Spirit Spheres and removes the need to create them individually.

Important supporting abilities include Blessing, Angelus, Iron Fists, Summon Spirit Sphere, Inner Fury, Tranquility, status removal, and the class’s mobility skill. Connected Fists and related attack passives further improve damage.

The build has more spare skill points than many classes, so optional utility can be selected after the core rotation is complete.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Use equipment that improves Physical Attack, cast reduction, cooldown performance, and the damage of Finger Offensive. The weapon should directly support Spirit Sphere attacks whenever possible.

Enchant and card priorities are Physical Attack, DEX, INT where it contributes to the build’s casting requirement, skill damage, Ignore DEF, and boss damage. Do not sacrifice the required casting breakpoint for a small increase in displayed attack.

Sniper

Best Build

Sniper is strongest with a Falcon auto-attack build. Its damage is driven by repeated Falcon activations rather than relying only on ordinary bow attacks, which makes LUK and AGI more important than a traditional full-DEX setup.

The same basic stat distribution can function in both PvE and PvP.

Stats

Use 99 LUK, followed by approximately 90–95 AGI, then place remaining points into DEX.

LUK maximizes the chance of activating Falcon attacks. AGI raises Attack Speed so the character creates more activation opportunities. DEX still provides ranged attack and related bonuses, but it is the third priority for this build.

Core Skills

Max Vulture’s Eye, Owl’s Eye, Double Strafe, Blitz Beat, Falcon Mastery, Steel Crow, True Sight, and Sonic Blast.

The Falcon passives increase its damage and Critical performance. Every few Blitz Beat activations can automatically trigger Sonic Blast, giving the build strong sustained damage.

Double Strafe should remain at level 10 because a card effect can automatically activate the learned version of the skill during auto-attacks. The advanced passive can then create an additional shot when Double Strafe activates.

The remaining points can be placed into traps, detection, mobility, or PvP utility.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Use a bow that strengthens auto-attacks, Falcon damage, or Attack Speed. Gear should prioritize LUK, AGI, Critical Rate, ranged damage, and Physical Attack.

The most important special card effect is the one that has a chance to activate Double Strafe from normal attacks. Additional cards should provide Attack Speed, Critical Rate, Physical Attack, ranged damage, or Falcon-related bonuses.

Gypsy and Minstrel

Best Build

Gypsy and Minstrel use nearly identical support builds. Minor skill names differ between the two jobs, but their stat distribution, equipment goals, and party role remain largely the same.

These classes function as active healers and defensive supporters in both PvE and PvP.

Stats

A balanced distribution is approximately 92 VIT, 73 INT, and 66 DEX.

VIT keeps the performer alive, while INT and DEX support healing output and skill performance. The performer should not be built as a fragile damage dealer when filling the party’s main healing role.

Core Skills

The first-job skill distribution resembles Archer, but offensive bow skills are mostly prerequisites or tools for solo farming.

Focus on the main healing performance, attack-enhancing songs, defensive songs, movement skills, and crowd-control removal. Slow Grace can be used situationally when enemies push into the group’s formation.

Puppet Master and its related skill allow certain ensemble effects to be used without requiring the opposite performer class. Defensive passives that raise maximum HP and reduce physical damage are particularly valuable.

Some defensive songs do not stack with equivalent Priest buffs, so organized parties should coordinate which character provides each effect.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Prioritize VIT, HP, Physical Attack where it increases healing, healing effectiveness, DEX, and damage reduction. Avoid treating the class like a conventional bow DPS unless creating a separate farming preset.

Cards should improve HP, healing, Physical Attack-based healing, status resistance, and general durability.

Mastersmith

Best Build

Mastersmith has two closely related physical setups. PvE uses a full-damage Axe Boomerang build, while PvP shifts a substantial number of points into VIT and uses equipment-breaking abilities.

The class also provides valuable buffs that improve the damage of nearby physical attackers.

Stats

For PvE, use 99 STR, followed by AGI. Place any remaining points into LUK.

For PvP, the supplied setup used approximately 90 VIT, 75 AGI, and 66 STR, with leftover points placed into LUK. This creates a better balance of durability, Attack Speed, and damage.

An earlier version of the build also tested maximum AGI with STR raised toward 80–90 for fast axe attacks.

Core Skills

Max Axe Boomerang and its associated passive. Weapon Perfection, Adrenaline Rush, Cart Boost, and the class’s offensive passives improve both personal and party performance.

Melt Down is important in PvP because it can damage or break enemy equipment. Hammer Fall provides situational crowd control when surrounded. Use the mobility and control-removal skills to escape dangerous positions.

For PvE farming, turret-related skills can replace some PvP utility. The area-damage upgrade is useful when clearing groups of normal monsters.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Use an axe-focused Divine Armament that strengthens Axe Boomerang or reduces its downtime. STR, Physical Attack, Attack Speed, and Ignore DEF are the main offensive priorities.

PvP equipment should add VIT, HP, resistance, and equipment-breaking utility. Cards should increase Physical Attack, STR, Attack Speed, Ignore DEF, or survivability.

Biochemist

Best Build

The recommended Biochemist setup is the magical Plant build. It performs well in PvP and remains useful in PvE because its plants can deal damage, heal allies, and improve the party’s resistance.

A bomb build can deal more direct PvE damage, but the Plant setup provides broader value and greater survivability.

Stats

Use approximately 95 VIT and 96 INT, then place the small number of remaining points into DEX.

INT supports the magical Plant build, while VIT makes the Biochemist difficult to remove from a fight. Variable-cast reduction is useful, but fixed-cast reduction is less important for this particular setup.

Core Skills

Prioritize Mandragora, plant-summoning abilities, Advanced Pharmacy, and the passive that improves magical performance or penetration. Full Chemical Protection prevents party equipment from being broken.

Survival Food removes crowd control and grants temporary physical damage reduction. Bio Cannibalize creates an area that heals and grants attributes to allies standing inside it. The movement skill should be used mainly for repositioning.

Demonstration remains useful even in the magical build because of its long range and its chance to damage enemy equipment. It can replace shorter-range Acid Terror for PvP utility.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Use the Plant-focused Divine Armament and raise it to its important upgrade levels. The Sprint set is recommended for Magic Attack and global-cooldown support, while a Valkyrie-style shield provides defensive value.

Enchants should prioritize Magic Attack, INT, VIT, casting efficiency, and PvP durability. Cards should improve Magic Attack, HP, plant damage, healing, penetration, or resistance.

Assassin Cross

Best Build

Assassin Cross uses a Critical auto-attack build for PvE, with a more defensive variation for PvP. It deals strong sustained melee damage but becomes vulnerable when it cannot remain close to its target.

Stats

For PvE, use 99 STR, then raise AGI to at least approximately 80. Continue investing in AGI when Attack Speed is low.

LUK can be added when Critical Rate is insufficient. Once both Attack Speed and Critical Rate are comfortable, additional points can be placed into DEX for smaller offensive bonuses.

For PvP, reduce AGI and add approximately 50 VIT. Keep high STR and use remaining points for LUK. PvP opponents move, disengage, and retaliate, so maximum Attack Speed is less useful than it is against stationary bosses.

Core Skills

The build should center on the Assassin Cross’s Critical auto-attacks, weapon passives, poisons, mobility, concealment, and short-burst abilities.

PvP skill choices should provide tools for engaging, escaping, and surviving retaliation rather than only improving stationary DPS.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Prioritize Physical Attack, STR, Critical Rate, Critical Damage, Attack Speed, and Ignore DEF. The supplied feather setup focused strongly on Ignore DEF, using STR on the purple feather and defensive feathers for survivability.

PvE cards should improve Critical Rate, Physical Attack, Critical Damage, Attack Speed, or damage against the current enemy type. PvP cards should add VIT, HP, resistance, and enough additional Critical Rate to overcome enemy Critical resistance.

Stalker

Best Build

Stalker uses a Backstab build that can perform extremely well in PvE while retaining strong disruptive tools for PvP. Its damage depends heavily on Attack Speed because Backstab’s cooldown decreases as ASPD increases.

Stats

The main objective is reaching 500 ASPD after equipment and buffs.

Raise STR for damage, AGI for Attack Speed, and use enough LUK to reach approximately 110 Critical Rate for PvE. When equipment already provides sufficient Critical Rate, move those LUK points into STR.

Core Skills

Backstab is the primary damage skill. Max its related passive and use the weapon-switching abilities required by the build.

In PvP, use the crossbow pull to bring a target into Backstab range. Hiding, movement skills, crowd-control removal, Graffiti, and elemental conversion provide additional utility.

The copied skill should be True Sight. It can be copied from the appropriate training target and provides several valuable offensive bonuses, including attributes, attack, and Critical Rate.

In PvE, place two Graffiti areas beneath bosses where possible to improve elemental damage. Some PvP utility points can be moved into farming or resource-stealing skills.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

Use gear that helps reach 500 ASPD without sacrificing too much STR. Priorities include STR, AGI, Physical Attack, Critical Rate, Backstab damage, and Ignore DEF.

Cards should support Attack Speed, Critical Rate, Physical Attack, skill damage, or elemental damage after conversion. PvP slots can be adjusted toward HP and resistance when necessary.

Summoner (Doram)

Best Build

Summoner has two distinct playstyles, each suited to different content. For PvE, the recommended build is a magic Catnip Meteor build, which offers excellent sustained area damage and can automatically trigger additional attacks through its Divine Armament. For PvP, the class performs much better as a physical summon build, using long-range skills, crowd control, and strong support abilities while staying safely behind the frontline.

Stats

For PvE, invest 99 INT, followed by 95 DEX to reach the recommended cast reduction breakpoint. Place any remaining points into VIT for additional survivability.

For PvP, use 99 STR and 99 VIT, with any leftover points in DEX. The physical build relies on nearly instant skills, so additional cast reduction is unnecessary.

Core Skills

The PvE build revolves around Catnip Meteor, which serves as the class’s primary source of damage. Max Silvervine to strengthen the build, along with the supporting magic passives, party shield, healing skills, HP bonuses, and crowd-control removal. The upgraded transformation skill should also be prioritized, as it temporarily increases both magical and physical damage while boosting maximum HP.

For PvP, shift to the physical skill tree and focus on the class’s summon attacks, ranged pressure, and utility. The summon skills become the primary source of damage, while the defensive shield, emergency healing, crowd-control removal, and temporary immortality skill greatly improve survivability during guild battles. Ground-based debuff skills are also valuable because they reduce the enemy’s physical and magical damage, making them useful for both personal survival and team fights.

Gear, Enchants, and Cards

For the magic PvE build, use the Scallion Divine Armament, as it increases both Catnip Meteor and Silvervine damage while allowing Catnip Meteor to automatically trigger Silvervine, significantly improving sustained DPS. Pair it with the Sprint equipment set and a Valkyrie Shield. Prioritize Magic Attack, INT, HP, and cast-related bonuses through enchants.

For the physical PvP build, switch to the summon-focused Divine Armament that strengthens summoned creatures. Equip physical accessories, prioritize Physical Attack, STR, HP, and PvP-oriented defensive enchants, and continue using Valkyrie Shield for additional survivability.

Magic cards should emphasize Magic Attack, Magic Damage, and INT, while physical cards should focus on Physical Attack, STR, and PvP resistance. Defensive card slots can be adapted to the content you’re challenging, with additional HP or resistance cards providing better value in difficult PvE encounters and organized PvP.

Choosing the Right Build

Players who want reliable ranged damage should consider Sniper, while Lord Knight, Assassin Cross, Stalker, and Champion offer different forms of physical DPS.

High Wizard is a strong option for area damage and farming. Professor trades some direct PvE power for greater elemental flexibility and PvP control.

High Priest is the most traditional support, while Gypsy and Minstrel combine healing with songs and defensive performances. Biochemist offers a hybrid of damage, healing, equipment protection, and battlefield control.

Paladin is ideal for players who want a durable frontline character that can still threaten opponents. Mastersmith suits players who enjoy physical damage, party buffs, and equipment-breaking effects.

No build remains perfect in every situation. Use separate presets when a class has substantially different PvE and PvP requirements, and avoid changing the core direction of a build simply to increase the displayed Power number.
