Destiny Rising Progression Guide to Increase Efficiency for New Players

Destiny: Rising, NetEase’s mobile spin-off of Bungie’s Destiny universe, merges action RPG mechanics with gacha progression systems. Unlike the mainline games, Destiny: Rising emphasizes hero collection, team building, and resource optimization. Progression in the game is not only limited to building only one hero, as you can command a team of lightbearers to fight for you in different PvE and PvP game modes. In this guide, we will be demonstrating how new players can navigate through the complicated progression routes of the game, and emerge more powerful as the mid-late game hits. Let’s begin!
Understand the Core Progression Loop in Destiny: Rising
Progression in Destiny: Rising is built around a daily loop of farming resources, upgrading heroes, and unlocking new modes as your account grows. The most important pillars are:
- Hero Growth – Recruiting, levelling, ascending, and gearing your Lightbearers.
- Campaign Progress – Pushing the story campaign to unlock new game modes, and farming stages for materials.
- Resource Management – Optimizing currencies like credits, enhancement materials, and premium gems.
- Multiplayer & Guild Systems – Engaging in raids, guild bosses, and PvP for high-value rewards.
Levelling Up your Account in Destiny: Rising
The best approach to level up is to complete any available quests. Aside from the benefits, completing a mission usually unlocks a new one, which means additional EXP and goodies. After you’ve completed all of the quests available to you, the next best way to level up is to participate in adventures. These are the PvE activities that also provide you with item and equipment improvements, allowing you to strengthen your characters.
While playing the game, it is recommended that you check your Bounties and complete them. It is recommended to do these while you are on a quest or adventure so that you can earn EXP without having to go out of your way. If you’ve run out of other ways to level up, you can still look for collectibles in open-world places like Jiangshi Metro. Aside from the EXP and goodies, you will improve your Exploration Progress and Reputation Rank, which can result in extra pulls on the permanent banner.
Progress in the Campaign Mode
The campaign mode of Destiny: Rising is quite elaborate and demands a lot of time and commitment to finish. For players who are unaware, the campaign mode is essentially the main storyline or plot of Destiny: Rising that is divided into multiple chapters with thematic cut-scenes. Players can take up the quests in yellow color called “main quests” to access the campaign mode. Else, you can also check where you are in the storyline by simply going to the main menu.
As a new player, it is important to see how far you can progress in the campaign mode as not only it helps you level up your account but also provides generous resources that can be used to upgrade lightbearers, weapons, and even summon for the top-tier heroes from the gacha system.
Utilize the Gacha System to your Advantage
Progression in Destiny: Rising is not linear, and it is a haven for collectors. Instead of the Guardian system seen in the previous Destiny games, Destiny: Rising features a lightbearer system akin to popular ARPGs wherein players can summon for different rarities of heroes called Lightbearers. Each hero is unique in their own right, and can use specific types of weapons. All heroes come in different rarities, and elements.
Players can summon new heroes by drawing on any of the live banners available. Since the system unlocks fairly early on (post completing tutorial), players can utilize it to their advantage by pulling the best heroes.
The gacha system uses Bon Voyage charms that can be obtained by completing main quests, progressing in the campaign mode, redeem codes, and rewards from events. As a new player, you will also have access to a limited-time discount while pulling wherein you can perform a 10-pull with only 8 bon voyage charms, up to 50 pulls. Make sure to use this bonus to acquire powerful heroes.
Players can enjoy playing Destiny: Rising on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
