In this beginner’s guide, we have explained some of the core gameplay systems that are integrally tied to progression and must be understood by new players if they want to excel further. Let’s begin!
Understand the Gameplay Mechanics of Covenant: The Last Flame
At its core, Covenant: The Last Flame is an Idle game that has multiple nuances tied to it. The game boasts both PvE and PvP game modes, although some of them are unlocked gradually as you level up your account and increase your progress in the story mode. The game’s main content is called “Instances” and it features the journey of the main hero. Consider it like the campaign stages or adventure mode in other similar games. As you first start out in the game, you will need to take a side between 2 factions – Horde or Alliance. Depending on the decision you take, your choices will be altered in the main storyline.
The combat mechanics of Covenant: The Last Flame are going to be right up your alley if you like Idle/AFK stylized games. It combines strategy elements with a hero collection, offering a unique experience to the player. First and foremost, players will need to craft a line-up consisting of 6 different heroes. We would recommend checking out the different classes of heroes first to get a deeper knowledge about line-up formations. In short, it’s better to have tanks in the front and damage dealers in the back line. The combat itself happens in a very automated manner, wherein both your heroes and the enemies attack each other depending on who is closer to each other.
Players can manually select any enemy as the main target by clicking the “Target” button located on the left-hand side. As your heroes kill more enemies, they will gradually gain more energy, represented by the yellow-colored bar at the bottom. Once their energy is full, their hero icon on the right-hand side will glow, and players can manually release their ultimate ability. As you progress farther down the instance stages, you will also unlock multiple quality-of-life features such as 2x battle speed, 3x battle speed, auto-battle, and skip battle. All of these features help you out in the long run to speed up your progression.
Heroes and Their Importance
Your heroes are the core bread and butter for combat scenarios in Covenant: The Last Flame. The game offers a vast variety of heroes, differing in rarity, element, and type. Each hero is unique in their own way, thanks to the multiple differentiations offered. Players can view their owned heroes by going to the Hero tab located on the left-hand side. You can get new heroes either by summoning from the Altar, or via participating in various limited-time events. Heroes come in differing rarities, with the higher the rarity, the stronger the hero is generally considered due to better base stats and superior abilities. The rarities are as follows:
- SSR
- SR
- R
- N
Further, heroes are classified into different factions, according to which they interact with other heroes in battles. These factions are as follows:
- Dawnlight – Stronger against Northland but weaker against Outland.
- Northland – Stronger against Thunder but weaker against Dawnlight.
- Outland – Stronger against Dawnlight but weaker against Thunder.
- Thunder – Stronger against Outland but weaker against Northland.
Altar – the Summoning System Explained
The Altar is the summoning system of Covenant: The Last Flame. For those unaware, the game has a gacha oriented summoning system that allows players to summon for new heroes at different probabilities. The game also offers a soft pity and hard pity, wherein the former states player is guaranteed to get an SR or above hero in 10 summons, while the latter states player is guaranteed to get an SSR hero in 40 summons. For new players, their 1st 10-pull is guaranteed to come with an SSR hero.
Claim Idle Rewards on a Regular Basis!
One of the more lucrative features of Covenant: The Last Flame is the Idle reward system. This system entails that players can get resources on a regular basis without even actively playing the game. However, the rewards are collected only up to 12 hours, and players will need to collect it or it won’t be farmed further. Hence, players can get tons of rewards each day without actively playing. The quantity and quality of the idle rewards is directly related to how far you have progressed in the instance mode.
Players can enjoy playing Covenant: The Last Flame on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
