Yu-Gi-Oh!: 10 Most Valuable Cards From The GX Era

Yu-Gi-Oh!'s second era has some incredibly valuable cards.

Posts

Some of the most expensive cards in the game are extra deck monsters due to how versatile they can be towards deck construction. Many of the top decks will structure their main deck towards getting them out on the field quickly. These are the ten most valuable extra deck monsters in the market.

Prices are based on the current market value as seen on TCGplayer and may be subject to fluctuation over time. List does not include misprinted cards.

10 Cyberdark Dragon (UTR) - Cyberdark Impact

Value: $412.97

Ultimate rare cards are known for having premium-quality printing. The card art is embossed and the textures feel more three-dimensional to the touch. Ultimate rare cards were once included in sets but are now mostly found in official tournament packs.

Cyberdark Dragon can be fusion summoned if you use Cyberdark Horn, Cyberdark Keel, and Cyberdark Edge. When it is summoned, you can select a dragon in your graveyard and equip it to Cyberdark Dragon. This then adds its attack power to it, making it a pretty big beatstick.

9 Eria The Water Charmer, Gentle (Starlight Rare) - Eternity Code

Value: $449.99

Eria the Water Charmer, Gentle, is a link-2 spellcaster that can revive a water monster from your opponent’s graveyard and special summon it to your side of the field. This can help you get more material on the field to special summon other monsters or use them as tribute fodder.

If it gets destroyed by your opponent’s card effects or by battle, you can add a water monster from your deck to your hand as long as it has 1500 or less attack.

8 Digvorzhak, King Of Heavy Industry - Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Prize Cards

Value: $450.00

Prize Cards make up a pool of some of the most valuable in the game. They can't be obtained by regular means and are reserved for the top players at their events. The cards themselves are not meant to be meta-breaking, but rather collector items to be shown off.

You can detach one material from it to send the top three cards of your opponent’s deck to the graveyard. If any monsters were among the cards sent by this effect, you can destroy the same number of cards on your opponent’s side of the field.

7 S:P Little Knight (Quarter Century Secret Rare) - Age Of Overlord

Value $564.82

S:P Little Knight is one of the most powerful cards in the game. Not only is it a link-2 monster, but it’s also a generic one, allowing it to fit into most decks. It can banish an opponent’s card when it is summoned, and it can also banish monsters, temporarily allowing you to dodge board wipes.

S:P Little Knight is already expensive as it is, but pulling it as a quarter-century rare is extremely fortunate. It is one of the best cards in Age of Overlord.

6 Duel Link Dragon, The Duel Dragon (SR) - Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Prize Cards

Value: $625.00

Another prize card, Duel Link Dragon, the Duel Dragon, is a link-4 monster that requires at least one synchro monster as material to summon. It has a quick effect that allows you to banish a level seven or eight synchro monster from your extra deck in order to summon a Duel Dragon Token.

The token copies most of the banished card’s stats, including level, type, attribute, attack, and defense. While you have the token on the field, this card cannot be attacked, and it is immune to being targeted by card effects.

5 Wynn The Wind Charmer, Verdant (Starlight Rare) - Rising Rampage

Value: $661.35

Wynn the Wind Charmer, Verdant, is a Link-2 monster that can revive a wind monster from your opponent’s graveyard and summon it to your field. It can also search out a wind monster from your deck and get it to your hand if it gets destroyed.

Like the other charmers in the archetype, it is a spellcaster, making it a viable option for a Village of the Spellcasters strategy. Wynn is a useful monster for link-climbing into stronger monsters and sculpting your hand during your opponent’s turn.

4 I:P Masquerena (Starlight Rare) - Chaos Impact

Value: $694.36

I:P Masquerena is a useful card that can be used to dodge many targeting effects that could potentially destroy your monsters. Use I:P and any other monster on your board as material for an even bigger monster.

Ideally, you should use I:P to go into monsters that have on-summon effects. This allows you to interact with your opponent's board during their turn. This can put a stop to some of their plays or create obstacles that slow them down.

3 Apollousa, Bow Of The Goddess (Starlight Rare) - Rising Rampage

Value: $915.71

Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess is a great link monster for combo-heavy decks. Having it on the field by the end of your turn allows you to negate monster effects by lowering Apollousa’s attack by 800.

This can allow you to dodge monster effects like Ash Blossom or Nibiru. It can also do so during your turn or your opponent’s turn, making it very versatile. It can also fit into many decks, so having a starlight rare version of the card is the ultimate flex.

2 Cyber End Dragon (UTR) - Cybernetic Revolution

Value: $974.95

One of the most iconic monsters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX era is Cyber Dragon. Cyber End Dragon is the culmination of three Cyber Dragons coming together to form one mighty fusion monster. Defense position monsters will cower in fear as Cyber End Dragon is able to deal excess damage to your opponent's life points.

Cyber End Dragon may not be the boss monster it once was, but the nostalgia of the name alone is able to carry its value. It also helps that the card’s rarity is ultimate rare making it a fine addition to any collection.

1 Dark End Dragon - Shonen Jump Championship Series Prize Cards

Value: $2,999

The most expensive extra deck monster is one that was given out as a prize during the Shonen Jump Championship in 2009. While not being the max rarity in the game, the prize card status skyrockets the price.

This is a level eight synchro monster with an ability that isn’t half bad. Once per turn, you can make the card lose 500 attack and defense to send one monster your opponent controls to the graveyard. Non-targeting removal allows it to bypass any monster effects that trigger on destruction.
