Someone Compiled A List Of All The Activision IP Not On Game Pass, And It's A Ton

Ever since Microsoft's industry-shaking decision to acquire Activision was finalized back in 2023, gamers had been envisioning a world in which the likes of Crash Bandicoot, Prototype, past Spider-Man titles and the Tony Hawk series could all be on Xbox.
Except, in the near-two years since the acquisition was finalized, that hasn't been the case. Sure, we just got a brand-new Tony Hawk game this year, but so many franchises continue to remain dormant, even as rumors swirl every few months about a potential re-licensing. The actual number of games that remain untouched? Well, you'd be astounded.
Perhaps One Day We'll Get Something More Than Call Of Duty
As first reported by Jez Corden of Windows Central, a social media user by the name of Crusader3456 has spent their time putting together a comprehensive list of games that Microsoft technically owns and could either re-release or put on Game Pass but hasn't to this point, for one reason or the other.
The list, which can be found here, is extremely exhaustive, and yet, as Corden noted, it still doesn't even include everything. There are titles ranging from the well-received Transformers Fall of Cybertron to multiple Call of Duty titles that are backwards compatible but not widely available. Of course, there are other odds and ends, like James Bond movie titles or old Spyro games.
As Corden noted in his report, the reason why older COD titles aren't as available is because "Microsoft is probably cognizant of the fact that many Call of Duty players would probably migrate to classic Call of Duty titles if they were more broadly available." Those classic games have almost zero profitablity via microtransactions. Cordon also lists "cannibalization" as a potential reason for other titles.
Either way, it's a pretty noteworthy look at just how few games are actually available all this time.
