Visions Of Mana: Tails With Tales To Tell Quest Guide

It's not easy having a subpar tail. Or so a certain young lass in Visions of Mana believes. In reality, it's just as lovely as any other tail - but you're here for a guide on the "Tails with Tales to Tell" side quest, not our opinions on cute, fluffy, character designs.

PostsIn this quick guide, we'll tell you how and when to begin "Tails with Tales to Tell", as well as where you'll need to go in order to get it finished, and what you'll receive for your (mild) troubles. Let's help this kid feel better about her lot in life!
How To Begin "Tails With Tales To Tell"
So, here's the thing. Visions of Mana's side quest initiation points can seem rather arbitrary; the formula appears to be a combination of three factors:
- Your current point in the main story;
- Whether or not you've completed other side quests in the same area;
- Whether or not you've exited and re-entered the area after doing so.
We're working on a more concrete analysis, but for now, here's what we did. We entered Niccolo's Emporium in Illystana, triggering the first of his series of side quests. We did this just prior to climbing from Deade Cliffs to Mylos Woods.
The Niccolo questline can very likely begin at least a tad earlier than this, so be sure to head into his emporium every couple of in-game hours. Regardless, you'll need Vuscav so you can return to the first continent for this side quest.
After finishing Niccolo's first side quest, an exclamation mark indicating a brand-new side quest sent us not far from his emporium, toward two kids named Maik and Lilytea. Chat them up to learn about Lilytea's self-conscious tail-related dilemma.

PostsOnward To Deade Cliffs and Longren
Our twin destinations are Deade Cliffs and Longren. It doesn't matter which one you hit up first, but since Deade Cliffs is on the same continent as Illystana, we got it over with first.
Speak with Beast Watcher Harbadris, who can be found just ahead of the Meridian outside Deade Cliffs' settlement. One tail opinion down, one to go.
Head to the shoreline so you can call Vuscav over, and ride him to Longren, where you'll find Oracle-in-Training Rengei over where Careena performed the dyeing ceremony.
Speak with her to get your second opinion - it seems Lilytea has precious little to worry over.
Finishing The Quest
Return to Maik in Ilystana, and you'll learn that Lilytea has ran off to handle things herself. Your final destination for this side quest is Pritta Ridge; warp to the Meridian at the center of the map, and head east a bit to find her imperiled.
Fend off the enemies in this quick fight, which will, frankly, cause you zero grief whatsoever. Watch the heartfelt scene that follows!
Your reward for helping Maik cheer up Lilytea is Myriad Wishes, a rare Ability Seed that, when equipped, shortens stat decreases by 50 percent.
