2K teased a revival for its iconic tennis series TopSpin at the turn of the year, and turns out we don't have as long to wait for its triumphant return as the teaser might have implied. TopSpin 2K25, the first game in the series since it was quietly retired after TopSpin 4's release in 2011, launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on April 26, 2024, and you can pre-order one of its four editions through the links below now.

TopSpin players will be able to create their own tennis star and attempt to ascend through the ATP rankings, or take control of some of the sport's most iconic stars from the past and present. Joining Roger Federer and Serena Williams, who will grace the cover of the game, are the likes of John McEnroe, Emma Raducanu, and Carlos Alcaraz. 48 real-life courts from around the world will be available to play on including every court from all four Grand Slam locations.

Even though 2K25 will carry the TopSpin name, it will naturally be a very different experience from the TopSpin you know and love. Even if you played every TopSpin game in the past, you might be wary of how the reboot will look and feel. The last-gen version of TopSpin 2K25 is $10 cheaper than a current-gen copy, but if you're planning on picking up a PS5 or Series X|S in the next year, there's a cross-gen edition. The only caveat is there's only a digital option, although there's a chance if you buy a physical copy of TopSpin 2K25 for a last-gen console, there will be a $10 current-gen upgrade path post-launch. What Time Will TopSpin 2K25 Be Released?

Top Spin 2K25 will have a staggered release time, launching at midnight local time wherever you are. The only exception is the PDT timezone where it will release at 9 pm local time on April 24. The same pattern applies to the beginning of early access for owners of its more expensive editions.

Who Makes TopSpin?

Top Spin started life as a Virtua Tennis competitor developed by Microsoft's Indie Games. However, Take-Two quickly saw its worth and bought it up so it could become a part of its 2K studio.

When Was The Last TopSpin Game?

TopSpin 4 was the last game in the series, released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. That means there has been a 13-year gap between games, and barring its last-gen edition, TopSpin almost skipped an entire console generation.

Is TopSpin 4 On PS4?

TopSpin 4 is not listed on the PlayStation or Xbox Games Stores so unless you have a physical copy and the hardware to play it on, you won't be able to play it.
