How To Complete The Unidentified Contaminant Exploration Quest

To start this quest, head down to the lighthouse in the Windhill Shores. You can use the orange hook chain spots to easily climb up to the landing of the lighthouse, where you can find the Windhill Shores Researcher to start this quest.

Speak to the Researcher, then grab a Magical Reagent from the shelves nearby. Once you pick up the Reagent, you'll have one minute to complete the next objective. With the Reagent in hand, glide down to one of the three floating platforms, then interact with it.

If you get the Reagent wet before doing this, or if you run out of time, you'll have to grab another Magical Reagent and try again.

Now, you'll need to defeat a Large Stone Crab that has gotten wet. To do this, attack one to have it start attacking you, then run into the nearby water. The crab should follow you, and upon stepping into the water, get wet. Once you see that the crab has the Wet status effect (indicated by a blue water drop icon), you can safely defeat it to complete this quest.

For completing this quest, you'll gain some experience Sollant, and a few Quality Armor and Weapon Growthstones.
