The Sims 4: Snowy Escape has plenty of things to discover as well as places to explore. Here's what you need to know
PostsYou’ll be spending quite a lot of time out on Mt. Komorebi building the Skiing skill, so it’s helpful to know what’s ahead as your Sim become more Confident on their feet. We’ve got everything that unlocks at each level of the Skiing skill down below.
Skiing Skill Overview
One of the three skills added in the Snowy Escape expansion pack for The Sims 4, the Skiing skill is one you'll be spending plenty of time in the pack's world, Mt. Komorebi.
Head over to this wintry world and you'll find its northmost area, Yukimatsu, contains the titular mountain itself and plenty of rental homes where your Sims can come to vacation.
However, you don't need to be on vacation to get some time in on the slopes - simply travel to any lot near the mountain to go skiing without going on vacation.
Where To Get Skis
If you're headed to Mt. Komorebi for the first time and don't have skis, check out the middle vending machine outside the ski lift on Mt. Komorebi.
You can buy multiple pairs of skis, both adult and child-sized, if you've yet to get any yourself - after all, you are in the most perfect place to learn!
If you'd prefer to come prepared, though, skis can be found in the Outdoor Activities section of Build/Buy mode.
Only a few are available before you've progressed the Skiing skill in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape, but once you have, you'll unlock new boards as you level the skill.
Which Intensity Should You Choose?
Like most of the athletics-based skills in The Sims 4, the Skiing skill drains Energy, Hunger, and Hygiene as you continue.
Low-Intensity is the least impactful of all, and it's also the best choice for beginners, as you're more likely to be successful.
As you ramp up in intensity, though, you'll run more risk of failure and injury if you're not of a high enough level to handle such a strenuous ski session.
Helpful Traits And Aspirations
As with the majority of the sports-based skills in The Sims 4, the Athletic trait is a great choice to help your Sim find the drive to hit the slopes.
Meanwhile, since the ideal mood for Skiing is Confident, any Self-Assured Simwill find themselves faring well at Skiing, as the Self-Assured trait makes Sims are more likely to be naturally Confident.
Loves Outdoors is a good third trait to pick to round out the bunch, as your Sim will be spending plenty of time outside on Mt. Komorebi building their Skiing skill.
As for aspirations, the Skiing skill is a big part of the Extreme Sports Enthusiast aspiration.
Included with Snowy Escape, this aspiration sees your Sim earning Satisfaction Points for participating in outdoor activities in Mt. Komorebi, plenty of which can be completed with Skiing.
Though it does include some perilous parts, the Reward Trait for finishing it, Survival Instinct, helps your Sim fare much better in the Mt. Komorebi nature.
