The Sims 4's Backyard Stuff DLC Is Currently Free To Claim On All Platforms

The Sims 4 went free-to-play on all platforms in 2022 meaning more people have played it over the last 18 months than ever before. There's still a lot of money to be spent on The Sims if you're willing to spend it though due to the litany of DLC it has received during its ten-year run. Whether you hopped aboard the bandwagon before or after it went free-to-play, you can currently add a little more content to your game at no additional cost via its Backyard Stuff DLC.
The Sims 4's Backyard Stuff expansion is one of 20 Stuff Packs added to the game and, like the 19 other available, usually costs $10. While it has been discounted in the past from time to time, this is the first time EA has given the pack away for free. Whether you play The Sims on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC, you can claim the Backyard Stuff DLC for free through the links in the box below.

Backyard Stuff is a great pack for those who love their garden and outdoor space. Here we look at the clothing, gameplay items, and other highlights.
PostsJust in case you hadn't already figured it out yourselves, the Backyard Stuff pack adds backyard stuff to your Sims 4 repertoire. Bird feeders, garden decor, wind chimes, and my personal favorite item introduced via this particular pack, a slip 'n' slide. Plus an array of cosmetic and clothing options for your Sims too, of course. EA hasn't clarified when the Backyard Stuff DLC will return to its normal price, but the Xbox Games Store has it returning to $9.99 on April 14, 2024.
The Sims 4 - Backyard Stuff
The Sims 4's Backyard Stuff pack adds a tonne of outdoor items to use in the game. From slip 'n' slides to summer attire, it's all here.

Not only does EA want your Sims to enjoy the summer months as much as you will, but perhaps it's a little worried we'll all abandon our Sims in favor of experiencing the real world once the sun comes out on a more regular basis. Now you've got everything you need for the summer in The Sims 4, you don't need to go outside at all.
I feel compelled to interject at this point to urge you to still go outside even if you do download the Backyard Stuff pack for free. Even if it's just for a little bit to check it's still there.
Even though work is well underway on The Sims 5, or whatever EA decides to call it, content for The Sims 4 continues to be rolled out. The Crystal Creations Pack released this month added jewelry creation options for your Sims to get stuck into. Amazing that the team at Maxis continues to think of new things to add not only ten years later, but four games later if you account for the entire series. A Plumbob jewelry range that includes real versions of the items you can make in-game is also available.
