One of these challenges is the Enchanted Cottage Challenge by chz_p1zza. It's great for storytellers who are looking to be creative with their game, and great for those who need a new way to use their favorite game packs.

What You Need To Know About Enchanted Cottage Challenge

The Enchanted Cottage Challenge was created by Simmer chz_p1zza, and it requires two expansions to complete. These expansions are Cottage Living and Realm of Magic.

This challenge lets you help a spellcaster Sim achieve their dreams of living in a beautiful little enchanted cottage, and give them a fulfilling life in the countryside.

The Enchanted Cottage Challenge is not a legacy challenge, so you only need one Sim to complete it. In order to give yourself enough time to complete it, it's recommended to set the Sim lifespan to long in the game options.

How To Start The Enchanted Cottage Challenge

To begin, you need to create a young adult spellcaster Sim with the Country Caretaker aspiration. There are no other requirements for the Sim, so you're allowed to be creative with traits and appearance.

Next, they need to be placed in a house in Willow Creek. Any pre-built home is fine, or you can build your own. This is the Sim's childhood home, and they'll be looking to begin a new life that leaves this lot behind.

You will also need to get your Sim some basic spellcaster gear:

  • a broom
  • a familiar
  • a wand

You can pick these up at the Realm of Magic, accessed through the Glimmerbrook portal. It's 40 Simoleons for a broom, 100 Simoleons for a familiar, and 25 Simoleons for a wand at the cheapest.

Once the house and the magical items are secured, set the household funds to zero by opening the cheat console and typing "money 0". This is everything you need to begin the challenge.

The cheat console can be opened by pressing CTRL + Shift + C on keyboards, or by hitting all four shoulder buttons at once on any controller.

Exploring New Worlds

It's time to begin the challenge. Your Sim wants to get out of Willow Creek, and they're looking for a place to live. They'll need to spend the day in two other worlds that aren't Henford-on-Bagley to explore what the Sims world has to offer.

It doesn't matter what the two worlds are, so long as they aren't Henford-on-Bagley. Just make sure they spend a full day and night in each world. Your Sim is meant to explore these worlds looking for a dream place to live.

Finding Henford-on-Bagley

Your Sim is losing hope of finding the perfect home for them, until they come across the beautiful and quaint Henford-on-Bagley. It's perfect for them. But, before they can move in, they also need to spend a full day and night here and complete some tasks.

This is what your Sim needs to do before they can move onto a plot in Henford-on-Bagley:

The Enchanted Life

Now that it's time to move, go to Manage Worlds and choose to move your Sim. Move them from Willow Creek to Henford-on-Bagley, to the Olde Mill Hill lot, which is the 64x64 lot in the town.

You will need to evict the Watson household to do this. When evicting them, bulldoze the lot, as well.

When you go to move your Sim to their new home, you can use cheats to get them a lot for free. Open the cheat console and type in "freerealestate on" to buy the lot without losing funds.

Now that you're home, you need to add some traits to the lot. Any traits are fine, but one of them needs to be the Simple Living trait, where any food made on the lot must contain the ingredients. Be sure to name your farm, too.

It's time to begin building your dream enchanted cottage life. Build a dream cottage, work on a farm, or practice magic. It's up to you how you want your Sim's story to play out, but there are some requirements you need to meet to truly beat this challenge.

Build A Dream Cottage

This one is simple, just build a cottage your Sim dreams of. This can be any shape and style you want it to be.

Earn All Money Without A Career

Your Sim needs to live entirely off the land of their farm. Your Sim cannot join a career, but rather make all their money selling crops, selling animal products like eggs or milk, or completing errands.

Your Sim can also make money painting, performing instruments, writing books and publishing them, or selling fish.

It's entirely up to you how you want your Sim to make their living, as long as they remain unemployed.

Complete Country Caretaker Aspiration

You must complete the entire aspiration your Sim started with by the end of their life.

You can check a Sim's aspiration and what tasks you need to complete in the game through the Aspiration Tab. It will tell you what tasks to complete to get to the next level, and when you've completed it.

The Country Caretaker Aspiration has four levels to complete: Campestral Curator, Agrestic Savant, Critter Keeper, and Legendary.

Become A Virtuoso

Your Sim must reach the max spellcaster level by the end of their life. You can check progress on this through the Spellcaster Perks menu. Practicing magic and casting spells will help you reach Virtuoso status.

Become A Finchwick Champion

Have your Sim win at least three Finchwick Fairs. There is a chicken fair, cow fair, llama fair, garden fair, and oversized crop fair. Bring your entry to the fair when it occurs in town by putting it in your inventory and entering it in.

Your Sim is encouraged to win all five fairs, but you don't have to in order to complete the challenge.

Max Out Five Skills

This one is also simple, just max out five of any skills during your Sim's lifetime. These can be any skills you'd like, although gardening is recommended for better crops.

Befriend Agnes Crumplebottom

The most feared Sim in Henford-on-Bagley is a tough nut to crack. However, you must befriend Agnes Crumplebottom to complete the challenge. With enough perseverance, your Sim can do it.

Become A Crop Collector

Your Sim must plant and harvest at least one of each: aubergine, lettuce, mushroom, pumpkin, watermelon, blueberry, chocoberry, and raspberry.

These can all be bought or found around Henford-on-Bagley.

Once all these conditions have been met, you've done it. Your Sim has lived their dream cottage life and the Enchanted Cottage Challenge is complete.
